Psalm 145 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 145 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

I pondered the question all men ask.
What is life's purpose and why are we here?
For many days I queried, questioned and thought.
Is it the accumulation of wealth, land and houses?
Are children, family and friends the answer?
Is education, degrees, knowledge and wisdom it?
Are fame popularity, power and politics the answer?
Is significance, security and self worth life's greatest solution?
Nothing of these will satisfy or bring real joy.

As I thought about these the Holy Spirit spoke.
He reminded me of God's eternal purpose.
There is joy, contentment, happiness and fulfillment in Him.
Nothing is as fulfilling, wonderful and fulfilling as serving the Lord.
To seek your kingdom with righteouness, peace and joy.
Doing the father's will and walking in obedience.
Finishing the task set before us by the Lord.
Completing our cause and race joyfully.
Having the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
These are the true purpose of life and a life well lived.
