Reasons for Writing

12 I am writing to you, dear children,

Awesome

Sept 18 – Awesome – Psalm 111:7-8

No word can really describe the Lord but one word might come close and that is awesome.  The
Lord is beyond understanding.  How does a finite mind comprehend and infinite being?  It is like a
Man trying to communicate to an Ameba.  God uses simple terms to get His point across.  The psalmist
States the Lord is stable forever and ever.  He does not change.  What his will is at the beginning will
Be at the end.  Everything He does is faithful and upright.  God is a perfect being, with a perfect plan.
He will always be true to Himself and to you.
The Lord will provide redemption and salvation for His people.  The Lord will always have a way to
Connect with His people.  Today that is through Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the bridge between God and man.
We could not save ourselves so Jesus did.  The Lord has ordained an agreement with Israel and with us.
When God makes an agreement He sticks to it.  God has made an agreement with you and He will not
Change t, alter or rescind it.  That is because He is holy and awesome.  So today stake you claim in the
Lord and see His benefits, promises and truth become part of your life today and through out the days ahead.

Tuesday Thought

Well it is Tuesday and here is your thought for today. When a person chooses a clean lifestyle it will influence all those around them. This all starts with the Lord. You are to seek his kingdom and righteousness and all things will be added to you. Start with the Lord and you will see wonderful things.

Monday Muse

It is the beginning of the week and here is your thought to ponder. Good intentions without proper planning end up in failure. So do proper planning but remember we can makes plans but it the Lord that makes it happen. Let Him guide your steps today and see success.

Proverb of Steel

Good intentions without proper planning end up in failure.

Verse Today

1 John 2:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

Works of His hands

Sept 17 – Works of His hands – Psalm 111:7

This psalm contains a total of twenty promises.  In the previous verses the writer talks about the majestic  Lord.  He then says that the works of the Lord are faithful and just.  The Lord is faithful.  He
Will never leave you or forsake you.  He will be true and just to His promises.  Paul says that the promises of God are yes and amen.  A promise is a truth given. You back up what you say with action.
God will faithful and just to what He says.  God cannot lie because it would goes against His nature.
The psalmist then reveals that the word of the Lord is trustworthy.  You can trust the Lord.  He will
Not make a promise, covenant or agreement that He will break.  David saw this when God promised
Him a descendent a ruler and Jesus Christ is ruling now in the hearts of His people and one day He
Will rule all the earth. What a time that will be when the world is rule with, truth, equity, justice and
Righteousness.

Proverb of Steel

Never be hasty in a major decision.  Seek the Lord, gather knowledge, advice and counsel and then listen to your heart.

Verse Today

1 John 2:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 Anyone who loves their brother and sister[a] lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.

The Footstool

Sept 14 – The Footstool – Psalm 110:1

David releases in this Psalm several prophecies about the Lord Jesus Christ.  The beautiful thing
About prophecy is that it has no time limit.  In this case David saw events a thousand years before
They happened.  This same scripture is quoted by Matthew in Matt 22:44.  Jesus is called to sit at
The hand of the Father.  In fact right now He is our advocate with the Father.
Jess because of His death, burial and resurrection now has all under His feet.  All are the Lord’s
Footstool.  In time He will rule all the nations.  His rule will be one of peace, love and strength.  Paul
Says that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.  Today
Acknowledge Jesus’ Lordship and rule in your life.  Let Him guide and help you today.  He will never
Leave you or forsake you.  He will be your rock, security and hope.

Wise Decision

It is the weekend and here is your thought to ponder.  Never be hasty in a major decision.  Seek the Lord, gather knowledge, advice and counsel and then listen to your heart.  You have so much to gain when you proceed in this way.  Remember seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things will be added unto you.

Verse Today

1 John 2:9 New International Version (NIV)

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister[a] is still in the darkness.

With my mouth –

Sept 13 – With my mouth – Psalm 109:30-31

David then closes off this psalm with an aim and goal.  He is going to extol, testify and tell others
about the Lord.  David is going to do it publicly.  Jesus stated that if we are ashamed of Him He will
be ashamed of us.  Our testimony should not just be a silent one but a public one.  Remember we
overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.  David knew this.  He knew the
devil was defeated when the saints of God tell the world of the goodness and love of God.  Do you?
David then states the Lord stands at the right hand of the needy.  If you need God’s help He will
Give you His strength and help.  The Lord will rescue those who need Him.  He will be their help,
Deliverer, strength and shield.  There is a story about a man trapped in a cave with no way out.  He
In desperation called out to the Lord and within a day was rescued.  He discovered the Lord cares
For us even in the pits we make ourselves and you will as well.

Proverb of Steel

God is everywhere but today most people are looking somewhere else.

Save Me

Sept 12 – Save Me – Psalm 109:26-27

As often in a psalm of David there is a cry for help.  David has experienced the cruelty of life and He
Knows that his only help is in the Lord.  Now David knew that only the love of the Lord was His absolute
Security in life.  It was the one thing he could rely on.  He also knew that it was the love of God that
would motivate the Lord to save and rescue him.  We can know the same truth if we are like David and
trust the Lord.  Solomon encourages us to do this in Prov 3:3-6.
Then David asks the Lord to show how through his deliverance and testimony that those who oppose
Him will have to face the Lord.  David had made a decision to not touch any one the Lord had anointed.
Even though Saul had chased him all over the place and David had many chances to retaliate he chose
Not to because Saul was the Lord’s anointed.
As you begin and go throughout this day remember the Lord fights our battles against the world, the
Flesh and the devil.  With God for us who can be against us.  You are an overcomer, victor and
Conqueror.  God is good and He is love and these qualities are yours today as you seek Him.

Verse Today

1 John 2:8 New International Version (NIV)

Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.

Seek God

It is the middle of the week and here is a thought to ponder.  God is everywhere but today most people are looking somewhere else.  So today seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all you need for life will be added unto you.  Do it today.

Proverb of Steel

It is the wise man that hear God calling.  Is is the fool that shuts his ears.

Verse Today

1 John 2:7 King James Version (KJV)

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Deal Well

Sept 11 – Deal Well – Psalm 109:21

This is a psalm of David talking about the ups and downs of life.  He shows that life can be unfair and
even cruel at times.  That is of the reasons to step out of the world and into the hands of God.   Then
David talks about His relationship with God.  It  is always good to testify of the Lord.  This bring
creedence and clarity to our lives.  When you count your many blessing it becomes clear on what the
Lord has done.
David knew the Lord will deal well with Him because He is sovereign.  God does what He wants but
He is guided by His love, grace and mercy.  God will also do it for His name sake.  God will always do
Things in such a way that He will get the glory and honor.  Not because God is selfish but because as His
People this allows us to break free our own selfishness and pride.
David then points out two divine qualities.  God’s goodness and love.  These two qualities move Him
to act on behalf of His people.  These qualities allow us to have the benefits of heaven.  It was His love
that brought salvation and His goodness to release all of heavens resources into our lives as needed.
God is Good.

Live well

It is Tuesday and here is your thought for today.  It is the wise man that hear God calling.  Is is the fool that shuts his ears.  So today hear what God is saying through the pages of the Bible.  The Bible is God's word for today and you will be wise when you read it.

The Haven

Sept 7 – The Haven – Psalm 107:28-30

The Psalmist equates life sometimes like a storm on the ocean.  The waves crash, the wind blows and
All seems lost but then the Lord comes.  Here the people of God called out to the Lord in their trouble or
Distress.  The Lord brought them out of their trouble.  Trouble comes but with the Lord it will not stay.
There are lessons to be learned in the storm, like how to trust and swim.
The phrase, He calm the storm with a whisper and the waves hushed was a prophetic of picture of
What Jesus did that day on the Sea of Galilee when the storm threatened Him and His disciples.  He told
The storm to be still and it was.  He will do for your storm.
The people involved here were glad for the calm and then the Lord guided them to a safe haven.
Haven is a place of safety, security, rest and protection. God will speak to your storm today and then
guide you to His place of safety, security, rest, protection and peace.

Here is a paradox of life.  You have a rich man acting poor and a poor man acting rich.

Verse Today

1 John 2:4 English Standard Version (ESV)

Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

He Sent Forth

Sept 6 – He Sent Forth – Psalm 1-7:19-20

The psalmist encourages His readers to cry out to the Lord in their trouble.  When you are in trouble
You do not have to try and face it alone.  You have all of heaven at your disposal.  Ask and you shall
Receive.  One of the benefits of prayer is asking for divine help.  James says in James 4:2, that you have
Not because you ask not.  So ask.  The psalmist says that when the dark time is upon you call out to the
One who has the light.  Light always dispels darkness.  Jesus is the light and He will destroy any darkness
or dark times from your life.
The Lord will save you from your distress.  He will send His word and heal you.  No matter what form
Sickness, disease or affliction comes in the Lord will send His word.  As Jesus sent His word to heal the
Centurions servant so He will send His word to heal you in your distress.  He will rescue from any pit
Or grave you face.  He is the resurrection and the life.  Whoever believes in Him will never die.  Call
Today and let the Lord send His word to heal you.

Proverb of Steel

Cut Through

Sept 5 – Cut Through – Psalm 107:15-18

Psalm 107 contains 17 promises.  It is rich with one theme, God’s unfailing love.  The love of God
Is so powerful.  Nothing can separate us from it.  It flows from the heart of God to us.  It was His love
That moved Him to bring us redemption while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.  The Lord does
wonderful deeds because of His unfailing love.  He sets the captive free.  No matter what you are facing
God can set you free even if it is something of your own making.
The psalmist states that the Lord breaks the gates of bronze and cuts through the bars of Iron.  These
Are great phrases.  You can pray them every day in your prayer time.  Say, “Lord today in your name cut
Break the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron and set me free.”  Amen.  The promise is that
He will.  No weapon form against you will prosper and remember with God for you, who can be against
You.

Good Things

Sept 4 -  Good Things – Psalm 107:8

Promises in the Bible.  That means that one third of the Bible is promises.  Paul says that the
Promises of God and Yes and Amen.  When God makes a promise it is an agreement with Himself and
The person He makes it with.  In this verse God is known for His unfailing love.  His love will never fail

It makes life worthwhile.  God has given this love to us.  It is in the form of kindness, joy, peace,

Air that we breathe is a gift from God.  The water we drink, the food we eat all starts with God.  This is
What the psalmist brings out.  Jesus taught that we should not worry about food, clothing or housing.
God will supply it.  He feeds the birds and clothes the flowers.  If He does that He will do so much more
For you.  Jesus told us that.  So today rely on God’s love, provision and faithfulness.  They are your
Promises today.
