June 29 – Your people – Psalm 79:13

 June 29 – Your people – Psalm 79:13

Asaph is the author of this psalm and he is relating how the enemies of Israel were winning or at least it seemed that way.  Asaph then remembers that they are His people and the sheep of His pasture.  David used this illustration many times and so did Asaph.  Now Asaph wanted the people to praise the Lord.  Asaph was a musician and leader of the orchestra.  He wanted everyone to experience what He had.  He was a worshipper and so he wanted others to be like him and discover the secret of praise and worship.

This lifestyle of praise and worship is design from generation to generation.  Our children will learn and catch it from us.  Our zeal can be an inspiration for the next generation.  What is your testimony and example?  Praise and worship is more than a form.  It is the substance of life.  When you praise and worship you release, faith, love, victory, holiness and victory.  When you worship you are express your heart.

June 28 – David His Servant – Psalm 78:70-72

 June 28 – David His Servant – Psalm 78:70-72

Asaph has gone through his history of the nation in this psalm and now he springs to present day.  He speaks of his king.  David was the Lord`s anointed.  He was the Lord`s servant.  Asaph saw David`s life and how it exhibited his relationship with God.  The Lord took David from the sheepfold to become the shepherd of the people of Israel.

David was the shepherd of the inheritance of God.  This speaks of leadership responsibility.  David was King and how he went in his relationship with God so did the people.  David shepherded in two ways and such a great testimony.  He did it with integrity of heart.  David was a man of integrity, honesty, uprightness, transparency and holiness.  David was a man of his word.  He lived his faith.  David was man after God`s own heart.  Secondly, he led with skillful hands.  David knew what he was doing.  He was a master leader.  He knew how to lead and motivate people.  He was a man of action and inspirational leader.  Let us pray for our leaders that they could lead the same way.  Remember righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.

June 27 – He guides – Psalm 78:14-16

 June 27 – He guides – Psalm 78:14-16

Asaph continues with his thought and he then spends the rest of the psalm talking about Israel`s history.  This psalm is a musical history of the nation.  The Lord guided Israel through the desert with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.  That must have been a spectacular sight.  The visible presence of God.  What a testimony.

The Lord split a rock and the nation had water gushing out in such abundance like the ocean.  More than enough water to quench the thirst of 2 million people and all their animals.  We serve a God of abundance.  You need an answer the God of the abundance is here for you today.  He brought water from a rocky crag and water flowed down like a river.  In the desert a river flowed to quench the thirst of a nation.  Your thirst can be quench.  Jesus said whoever drinks the water He gives will never be thirsty again.  Drink this water today and you will never thirst again and neither will those you introduce to Jesus.
