Proverb of Steel

.  A man who loves his wife will have a home where grace and love flourishes.

Verse Today

Jude 23 New Living Translation (NLT)

23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others,[a] but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.[b]

Tuesday Thought

It is Tuesday and here a great thought. A man who loves his wife will have a home where grace and love flourishes. So men do yourself a favor and love your spouse. It will such a blessing to yourself and your children.

Sing and Say

July 31 – Sing and Say – Psalm 96:2 & 10

It has hard to believe that we are already at the end of July.  Summer is moving along and the
weather is beautiful.  Enjoy the lazy, crazy days of summer they are special.  Today the psalmist gives
two instructions.  Sing to the Lord.  Music and song are two wonderful expressions of the heart.  They lift
the soul and release the Spirit.  The psalmist encourages us to praise the Lord and proclaim His salvation
day after day. Salvation is not just a Sunday thing but a moment by moment and day by day experience.
It is designed to change your life for the better.  Charles Colson once said that salvation to Him was daily
being renewed.  Remember the mercies of God are new every morning and great is His
faithfulness.
The second instruction is to say to the nations that the Lord reigns.  The world has been established
and it cannot be moved.  The Lord will judge the world fairly.  We are not only to sing but proclaim the
Lord in the arena of life.  So sing of the Lord about His greatness and then say to your world that He
reigns, creates and judges.  The world needs to hear your voice

Sofa

It is the beginning of the week and here is a humorous thought. Honor the marriage bed. It is wider and more comfortable than the sofa. Do yourself a favor and honor and love your wife. It is the best example to give to your kids.

Proverb of Steel

Honor the marriage bed.  It is wider and more comfortable than the sofa.

Verse Today

Jude 22 King James Version (KJV)

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

Come

July 30 – Come – Psalm 95:1-6

The psalmist gives an invitation today.  He invites people to come and worship the Lord with songs of
joy.  He invites all to shout, make music, sing, dance, bow down and worship Him.  Then the psalmist
lists the reasons and they are worthy of note.
The Lord is the Rock of our salvation.  He is the great God and the King of all the Gods.  In His hands
are the depths of the earth.  The mountains peaks belong to Him.  The seas are His because He created
them.  He formed the dry lands with the power of His word.  The Lord is our maker and we are the
sheep of His pasture and the flock under His care.
The Lord is all these things and so much more.  Let us today heed this invitation and experience the
True joy of worship.  Remember worship is an attitude of the hearty expressed.  Express your heart
today.

Weekend Thought

It is the weekend and here is an amusing though. Children are a blessing from the Lord. In laws are still up for debate. No matter we are to love those in our world. Of course some as easier than others.

Children

Children are a blessing from the Lord.  In laws are still up for debate.

Verse Today

Jude 21 New International Version (NIV)

21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

The Lord reigns

July 27 – The Lord reigns – Psalm 93:1

The Psalmist writes to important facts.  The Lord reigns.  He is supreme and in control.  No one is like
God.  Heaven and earth were created by Him and for Him.  It was out of love that He made all things.  He
Is the creator and sustainer of all things.  He is the reason why we breathe and think.  Next, the Lord is
Robed in majesty.  Majesty means greatness or one who brings admiration and respect.  The Lord has all
These qualities and more.  He is beyond description in fact to wonderful for words.
The Lord is armed with strength.  No one is mightier or more powerful than God.  He is omnipotent.
One quality about the creation He made is that it is firm established and cannot be moved.  The law and
order He created cannot be suspended or changed.  Only the Lord Himself can do that.  These are things
that all creatures in God’s creation can be sure of and that the Lord is the same yesterday, today and
forever.  You can trust the Lord with your past, present and future.

Thursday Thought

It is Thursday and here is your thought to ponder. Never be satisfied with a happy meal in life when you can have salmon or steak. Unless you are a vegetarian. You are called by the Lord to have and abundant life so never settled for anything less.

Proverb of Steel

Never be satisfied with a happy meal in life when you can have salmon or steak.  Unless you are a vegetarian.

Verse Today

Jude 20 New International Version (NIV)

20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,

They will flourish

July 26 – They will flourish – Psalm 92:12-15

The righteous will flourish is the promise.  The psalmist uses the illustration of a palm tree that
grows like a cedar of Lebanon.  The cedars in Lebanon were mighty and strong.  They will be planted in
the house of the Lord and will flourish in the courts of the Lord.  Life in the spirit is one of abundance
and growth.
The righteous will bear fruit long past when fruit is suppose to grow.  They will stay green and fresh.
Life will be constant, stable and strong in the midst of old age.  We saw this in the lives of Moses,
Abraham and Daniel.  Each man was strong and fruitful well into their twilight years.  You are never to
old to be used of God.
These lives will proclaim the Lord is upright.  We are lighthouse and mirrors for the Lord.  We show
His light and life to a dark and perishing world.  He is our rock and there is no wickedness in Him.  The
Lord is our source of light, life, fruitfulness and abundance at any age.

A child

It is the middle of the week and here is your thought for today. A child who is spoiled is like a dripping tap, annoying and a waster of valuable resources. The Bible says train a child in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it. Be firm and loving. Help your child to be a good citizen by be loving firm in what you do with them. They need molding and you as parent must do it or someone else will. You do not want that.

Proverb of Steel

A child who is spoiled is like a dripping tap, annoying and a waster of valuable resources

Verse Today

Jude 18-19 King James Version (KJV)

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

It is good

July 25 – It is good – Psalm 92:1-2

The writer of this psalm is unknown but it is a psalm for the Sabbath.  The writer tells the readers that
It is good to praise the Lord with music.  Music is a form to release the soul.  It releases joy and victory
into the heart of participant.  Praise and worship is one of the highest expressions of the heart.
Remember worship is an attitude of the heart expressed.  Today many great songs express worship to
The Lord.  This worship is to the Lord most High.  There is no one like Him.  From ages to ages He is to be
Praised.
Through praise and worship the believer is to proclaim His love in the Morning and His faithfulness at
night.  We begin with His love which is the foundation for every day and then we thank Him for His
faithfulness at the end of the day.  He has loved us and kept us through His faithfulness each moment of
the day.  These are two things to thank the Lord for today.

The Atheist Professor vs. Christian Student named 'Albert Einstein'

Proverb of Steel

Atheist`s are a funny group.  They spend so much time trying to disprove something they do not believe in.

Tuesday Thought

It is Tuesday and here is your thought. Atheist`s are a funny group. They spend so much time trying to disprove something they do not believe in. When you believe in the Lord however you have two great things happen to you. First you have eternal and abundant life. Secondly you have purpose for life. Seems like a great deal.

Verse Today

Jude 17 New International Version (NIV)

A Call to Persevere

17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.

Salvation

July 24 – Salvation – Psalm 91:16

This is our last day in day in Psalm 91.  We learn two things from this verse today.  The Lord promises
Long life to those that serve Him.  In David`s day that was 70 years.  Today with better eating and
Medical advances that can be stretched into 60-90 years.  This is not just length of life but quality as
well.  Serving the Lord keeps you from the many sources and pitfalls f life.  If you never smoke, drink or
toke you will avoid so many diseases that ravage so many.  It is a choice to serve the Lord but it has
many great benefits and long life is one.
Secondly, the Lord will show those who serve Him His full salvation.  Salvation has many benefits.
Forgiveness, love, acceptance, rewards, victories, protection to name a few.  Seems a win win situation.
So today as we close this psalm remember all the promises and breakthrough with a righteous and
Holy life.  Rejoice and live in each one.

Proverb of Steel

The person who does not believe in God has failed to see the evidence of His existence all around them.

Verse Today

Jude 12 New International Version (NIV)

12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead.

No harm –

July 20 – No harm – Psalm 91:9-10

David says, “If you make the Lord your refuge and dwelling.”  The responsibility is up to us.  We make
the choice to let the Lord become these things.    We must apply and put into action the promises of
God.  They may be yes and Amen but you got to put them into action.  Faith is not just mental assent it
is walking in the promises.
When you do put God’s promises into action.  No disaster or harm will come near you or where you
live.   You and your loved ones will be protected.  What a great promise for you today.  David overcame
Goliath.  Noah was saved by being in the ark.  The three Hebrew boys were rescued from the fire and
Peter was rescued by an angel.  Apply what has been given and see what the Lord can and will do.

Evidence

It is the weekend and here your thought to ponder. The person who does not believe in God has failed to see the evidence of His existence all around them. God is everywhere around you and he has used creation and conscience to speak to you. Listen and see His great plan and purpose for your life.

Verse Today

Jude 11 New International Version (NIV)

11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.

No fear

July 19 – No fear – Psalm 91:5-7

David reminds his readers that you do have to walk in fear.  The attack could come in the night,
morning, midday and evening.  Whatever form it comes you will not have to fear.  It could be pestilence,
plague, accusation, temptation and deception.  It will fail.  People may be falling all around.  The world
may seem to be breaking apart but it will not overcome, overwhelm  or destroy you.  In fact these
things will not even come near you. I am so glad for the Lord.  We will overcome, we win conquer, we
will be the winner and victor.  He promises abundance and the overflow.  Like the old song says, “Here is
my cup, I lift it up.”  When we seek the Lord with all our heart and the righteousness He brings the
promise is that He will add all things to us today.  So seek Him and have victory over fear and be a
person of abundance.

Thursday Thought

It is Thursday and here is your thought for today.  A man once told me that if he ever doubted the existence of God all he did was look around and that doubt disappeared. The Lord has used creation to speak about himself the problem is no one has been listening.  So today tell those in your world about the Lord by how you live and speak.

God made us

It is the middle of the week and here is your thought to ponder. God made man and then breathed into him the breath of life and man became a living soul. We are not like any thing on this planet. God made us for a purpose and destiny. Don't let anyone belittle or make you less than God has called you to be. You are His so go and make a difference in your world.

Proverb of Steel

God made man and then breathed into him the breath of life and man became a living soul.

Verse Today

Jude 10 King James Version (KJV)

10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

The Fowlers Snare

July 18 – The Fowlers Snare – Psalm 91:3-4

This psalm reminds us that in the protection and safety of the Lord we will be escape the snares and
attacks of the enemy.  The world, the flesh and the devil are our enemies and they attack in different
ways.  The world uses, pleasure, passion and possessions.  The devil uses, accusation, temptation and
deception.  The flesh uses the five senses and pride.
In the Lord we have protection, help strength, guidance and hope.  The Lord will keep you, shield
you, lift you up and be faithful to you.  Augustine said, “Waiting for the Christian is a great city.  Till
then the Lord promises to protect, keep and shield you.”  You will find Him faithful today.

Listen

It is Tuesday and here is a thought to ponder. Listen to the nudging within your heart, it is the voice that will save you from a multitude of problems. God gave you this conscience so listen to it.

Proverb of Steel

Listen to the nudging within your heart, it is the voice that will save you from a multitude of problems.

Verse Today

In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding townsgave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.

He who dwells

July 17 -  He who dwells – Psalm 91:1-2

For the next few days we will be spending some time in one of the most wonderful psalm given.  It is
both messianic and personal.  David states that that those who dwell in the of the most high and rest in
the shadow of the almighty are blessed.  There is rest and safety in the Lord.  Even in His shadow is
comfort, help and strength.
In Vs 2, four things are revealed about the Lord.  He is our refuge, place of safety and protection.
Next,  He is our fortress.  David loved the protection the Lord gave.  No weapon form against the people
of God are going to prosper.  Jonah, Daniel and the three Hebrew children saw this and so will you.
Thirdly, He is our God.  This comes through a personal relationship through Jesus Christ.  We not only
know about Him but we know Him.  Lastly, in whom we trust.  When you trust the Lord with all you
heart and do not lean to your own understanding the promise is that the Lord will direct your path.  So
today take these promises and walk with them to victory today.

Monday Muse

It is Monday and here is a thought to ponder. Battles are won or lost before we get into them when we walk defeated or believe we will lose. So walk in faith in the Lord and know that He has won the battle already in Christ.

Proverb of Steel

Battles are won or lost before we get into them when we walk defeated or believe we will lose.

Verse Today

Jude 6 New International Version (NIV)

And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.

The Favor of the Lord –

July 16 – The Favor of the Lord – Psalm 90:16-17

Moses has a simple prayer here as He closes off this Psalm.  Moses of course was the greatest old
testament prophet.  He saw the Lord face to face.  His prayer is that the deeds of the Lord is upon His
people.  Moses wanted the people to see the tangible proof of God.  Reality is so much better than
theory.  He then prays that the splendor of God would be in our children.  His favor and splendor is for
all generations.  This is theme and essence of this psalm.
Moses then prays the favor of God upon the people.  Favor means approval, support and kindness.
God does this for His people.  He loves all people but that does not means His favor is on all people.
You make the choice to step into the favor and blessing of God.  Moses then asks the Lord to make the
work of His hands to be given to people.  Moses had seen the visible working of God.  He wanted more
of that.  Moses saw mighty miracles.  Supernatural exploits of God.  God has liberated the people
through His mighty hand.  The greatest nation in the world had been humbled by God.  Moses wanted
more of that.  Oh how we need this today.  Let us prayer for divine intervention in our world`s today.

1 Cor10:12-14 – How to be Successful in Trouble – Feb 9 2013

Today we are going to look at life verse of mine that I wish to share with you.

1,  Paul says in Vs 12, When a man thinks he will always stand, beware or take heed you
can and most likely will fall.  When you are self assured, satan loves to kick the feet
out from beneath you and God will let him.
2.  Peter was such a man when he told Jesus that he would not deny Him.  Jesus told
Peter that before the rooster crowed Peter would deny Jesus 3 times.

3.  What causes a person to fall?

  1. Pride: you think it cannot happen to you.
  2. Neglect:  You are not keeping up with the word, prayer, fellowship and keeping your testimony strong.
  3. Allowing the opinions of the others matter more than God.
  4. Wordliness:  Allowing the things of the world to invade your life.
  5. Giving into temptation.
  6. Fear:  God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love power and a sound mind.
  7. Half hearted faith.  Most prevalent sin is the sin of partial surrender.  It takes real effort to have a vibrant and dynamic faith but so essential.

Here is the Promise.

  1. Every temptation you face is common to man.  The devil uses accusation, temptation and deception.  The world uses, pride, passion and possessions.  The flesh uses the five senses, our inward tendency to sin and our need for security, significance and self worth.

  1. Jesus faced all these and yet did not sin.  Heb 4:15
  2. He did it through the power of the Holy Spirit and you can win as well.  You have to do three things.  Submit your will to God.  Submit your thought life to God.  Say No.

  1. God is faithful.  God was with you in the past, He will be with you today and He
will be with you tomorrow.  You are not alone.  He is the same yesterday, today
and forever. God is with you.
  1. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able to endure.  God knows what you are made of.  He knows how much you can take.  He saw the temptation years before it happen.  He has put all the right stuff in you right now to win.  You have the Spirit, the word, His promise, His power, anointing, fellow Christians and the promise that all things will work together for God.  You have the armor, and weapons
  2. He will make a way of escape.  Noah escaped by the ark.  Moses escaped by the Red Sea.  The Three Hebrew boys escaped by the Fourth Man.  The truth is God will not abandon you.  He will not leave you or forsake you.  The devil wants you to believe He will but He will not.

Paul closes off this exhortation but telling the Corinthians to flee idolatry.  He tells them that idolatry in any form will make us fall.  Idols come in many forms but here is the litmus test to find out what idol you may have in your life.  Where you go to in your time of need to help you is your idol.

Actions

tI is the weekend and here is your thought. Actions speak louder than words, so make sure your actions are saying the right things. Tell others how you love and accept them. Be an encourager and touch others in the right way for the glory of God.

Proverb of Steel

Actions speak louder than words, so make sure your actions are saying the right things.

I will sing

July 13 – I will sing – Psalm 89-:1-2

This is a psalm or Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite.  He will spend the majority of this psalm relating of the
power and majesty of God.  Ethan starts by saying that he is going to sing of the Lord`s great love
forever.  He will make know throughout all generation of the faithfulness of God.  This is the theme of
the singers and musicians of David`s day.  They had seen how God had been faithful to Israel and to
David.
Ethan relates how the Lord`s love is stable and consistent.  You can always stand on the Lord`s love.
It is powerful and strong.  This love is like a rock that does not move.  It is beyond comprehension.  Then
he states that the faithfulness of God is established in heaven.  It is part of His nature and character.
Love and faithfulness are the essence of God.  He is not like man who changes with every wind of
Culture.  God will always be who He is and to be something would go against His own nature.  So today
reflect on these qualities and rejoice in the fact that you know Him.

Verse Today

Jude 5 King James Version (KJV)

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Proverb of Steel

Communication is the key to strong friendships and marriages.  So keep your messages clear and simple.

Verse Today

Jude 4 New Living Translation (NLT)

I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Your love

July 12 -    Your love – Psalm 88:11

This is a psalm of Korah but directed by Heman the Ezrahite.  Through this psalm the writer is
reminding the Lord about his faithful, kindness and love.  He is crying out to God for help.  Even in places
such as the grace and destruction the Lord`s love and faithfulness is found.  Many times we feel
overwhelmed.  We feel like we are in the place of death and destruction.  In these places God`s love and
faithfulness will be found.  When we call out to the Lord, He will answer.  His love and faithfulness are
our shield and help.  So today if you feel that way let the Lord`s love and faithfulness keep you as well.

The way is clear

May 27. 2012 – 1Thess 3L11-13 – The way is clear.

Intro:  Our message is from the Book of 1 Thessalonians.  This church was established by Paul during his second missionary journey.  There had been great persecution but the small church, comprised of Greeks and Jews were standing fast in victory.  Paul was so elated at the news he wrote them this letter.  This was the first of his two letters to the Thessalonians

Background:  There were four things Paul wanted to address.

  1. Someone had claimed the Lord had already come so he wanted to address this.
  2. The church had become idle and complacent because some key people had died.  Paul spoke to that issue by reminding them they would see them again.  He told them that idleness lead to returning to old habits, choices and heathen voices.  A powerful lesson here is you are not going ahead, sooner or later you will go backward,
  3. The church had 3 distinct cultural groups and so he wrote in an effort to unite them.  He encourages them to be unified and defend the faith and to not lose heart in the midst of persecution.
  4. He exhorts the church to be pure, full of brotherly love and daily walk with the Lord in the midst of persecution.

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else.

  1. It begins with us loving God first with every fibre of our being then letting it overflow to others, this will extend to all the community,  Paul says to follow his example and model along with the other apostles to love sinners.  Paul had sent Timothy to see how the church was doing and that had prompted the letter,
  2. Brotherly love shows that we are His disciples.

Vs 12

      1.  Paul’s prayer was that God the Father and Jesus Christ could clear the way for
them to come and see them.  This statement has a strong prayer and spiritual
           warfare component.
2.  Only prayer, fasting and spiritual warfare can open the heavens and bring revival.
3.      Paul was encouraging and exhorting the Thessalonians to get unified.  Revival
doesn’t just happen.  Prayer is the key.  Talk about the New Hebrides revival.

Vs 13

      3.  Paul prays that they would be strengthened in their hearts.  The inner affects the outer.  Prayer, word, and using your spiritual language are key components to facilitate the strengthening of your hearts.

  1. When your inner world is right. The outer world will follow.  Gordon Macdonald says, “When you order your private world, your outer life shows the inner world’s progress.”
  2. This whole process enables you to be blameless and holy which means separated unto God.  This of course affects lifestyle, attitudes and habits.
  3. Paul encourages and exhorts them to be prepared.  Jesus is coming back.  If his exhortation was relevant for that day how much more should it be for our day.  The Lord is coming back with His holy ones.  Remember the dead in Christ rise first.
  4. Paul comforts the Thessalonians that they would see their loved ones again.  Paul exhorts them to have orderly conduct in life.  He wanted their hearts and lives to be ready.

Verse Today

The Sin and Doom of Ungodly People

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contendfor the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.
