I will teach

July 10 – I will teach – Psalm86:11-13

This is such a rich Psalm.  David reveals more about the character and nature of God and His reaction to it.  In vs 11, David wants the Lord to teach Him, He needed direction.  Here is a man after God’s own heart wanting God’s education.  He wanted to walk in life according to God’s truth.  He then asks the Lord for an undivided heart.  He did not want to have two masters.  James says a double minded man is unstable in all their ways.  Single focus is what we need today.
In vs 12, David then talks about he will praise the name of the Lord forever.  From the first moment he rises to the last moment of the day, David was going to tell people about the wonderful deeds and ways of the Lord.  Praise is thanking the Lord for what He has done.  God had taken David from the sheep pen to the palace.  He had a lot to be thankful for.  You do as well if you take the time to think about it.
In vs 13, David, tells his audience that God has great love.  He has rescued His people from the depths of the grave.  Death has no sting or fear for the Christian.  We have passed from death unto life.  To live is Christ and to die is gain.  So today rejoice in what the Lord has done and face the day with joy and victory.
