He guides

June 27 – He guides – Psalm 78:14-16

Asaph continues with his thought and he then spends the rest of the psalm talking about Israel`s history.  This psalm is a musical history of the nation.  The Lord guided Israel through the desert with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.  That must have been a spectacular sight.  The visible presence of God.  What a testimony.
The Lord split a rock and the nation had water gushing out in such abundance like the ocean.  More than enough water to quench the thirst of 2 million people and all their animals.  We serve a God of abundance.  You need an answer the God of the abundance is here for you today.  He brought water from a rocky crag and water flowed down like a river.  In the desert a river flowed to quench the thirst of a nation.  Your thirst can be quench.  Jesus said whoever drinks the water He gives will never be thirsty again.  Drink this water today and you will never thirst again and neither will those you introduce to Jesus.

The Next Generation

June 26 – The Next Generation – Psalm 78:4

This is a psalm of Asaph and wonderful story of the goodness of God.  Asaph tells how he is going to tell the children of this generation the things God has done.  In Israel oral history was essential to the gathering of the Bible.  Father`s told their sons and their sons told their sons.  We must share our faith with the next generation of the church will become extinct.
Asaph says we must tell the next generation of the praise worthy deeds of God.  It could be Abraham, Isaac or Jacob.  We could tell of Samson, David, Solomon, Jesus or the Apostles.  We must relay the greatest story ever known.  Asaph says to tell them about His power and the wonders He has done.  Tell them your story as well.  We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.  God has been good and tell others what He has done for you.  Tell your story your family and friends are waiting.

Wednesday Thought

It is the middle of the week and here is your thought. The Bible says the steps of a good person are order by the Lord. Today make it your aim and goal to allow the Lord to guide each moment and step of your life. God has a dream and destiny for your life. To see it fully fulfilled you have to let God guide you moment by moment. Invite Him into your life today and see His dream come to pass. You will not be disappointed.

I will think

June 25 – I will think – Psalm 77:12-14

This is a psalm of Jeduthun and Asaph.  They co-authored this psalm and it speaks of meditating on the Lord.  Meditation in the biblical sense is thinking about and pondering for a long time about the Lord.  Think about His works and what he has done.  When you count your blessings you will be surprised what the Lord has done.  They are considering the Lord’s mighty deeds. God moves mightily in the ordinary.  Through the ordinary things of life as you think about it you can see the Lord’s mighty hand.
The ways of the Lord are holy and there are no gods but Him.  All the rest are wood, stone and metal.  Gods we have made out of our imagination or we have allowed demons to control our lives.  God performs miracles, He displays His power but what He does and all of this is clear among the people.  Moses led the people of Egypt through mighty signs and wonders.  So whether in the obvious or the ordinary God will be with you today.

Tuesday Thought

It is Tuesday and here is your thought for today. In Isaiah 6:1
is states
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. God wants us to know him. To see Him as He is. That states with a relationship with Jesus Christ. Today the Lord wants to get to know you better. Start this day with tje aim and goal of knowing the Lord. When you do all the others things will fall into place.

He will deliver

June 20 – He will deliver – Psalm 72:12-14

In this Psalm which is actually a psalm written by Solomon.  Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived.  He wrote proverbs and wise saying as well as psalms.  He relays to his readers three things about God here.  First The Lord will deliver the needy and help those no one can help.  The Lord is the father to the fatherless.
Next the lord will take pity on the weak and the needy.  He will save the needy from death.  Death stalks the world everyday looking for someone to destroy.  The most vunerable are at peril the most.  The Lord promises to supply every need according to His riches in glory.  When you have a need the Lord will help.  One man had no food to feed his family one time and so he prayed and asked the Lord to meet the need within minutes a knock came on the door with someone supplying the need.
The Lord will rescue people from oppression and violence.  His people are precious in His sight.  The Exodus was all about freedom from oppression.  Mankind craves freedom and God supplies it through Jesus Christ.

Thursday Thought

It is Thursday and here is your thought for today in Isaiah 4:6, it says, it will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. The Lord is the one who keeps you in all things. When you trust in Him you have safety, security and significance. The Lord gives you a destiny and hope. So today let His love, stir you faith to hope for better things throughout this day and He will not disappoint you

Next gerneration

June 19 – Next generation – Psalm 71:18

The Psalmist is now reflecting on their life.  They know that one day they will be old and gray.  They ask the Lord not to forsake them.  When our strength is ebbing and failing we can still rely on the Lord.  One thing we learn from the Bible is that age is not a factor in serving the Lord.  Moses was called at 80, Abraham was commissioned at 75, Sarah bore a son at 90, Caleb told Hebron at 85 and Haggai began his ministry at 90.   So never think that for a moment you will retire.  Refire yes but retire no.
The cry of the psalmist was that he could change the next generation.  He wanted to be a teacher and mentor for the next generation.  That was John`s point of view when he wrote his books.  The psalmists desire was to declare the Lord`s power to those that were coming up.  Today become renewed, restore and refired.  Say Lord, `Give me your power, authority, anointing, and enablement today.` Then receive it and change your world and the next generation.

Wait

It is the middle of the week and here is your thought to ponder. In Isaiah 40:
31 it says but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. When you put your hope in the Lord you will always have an answer. It sometimes takes time but it will come. In Dan 9:23 and 10:12, we learn that even before the request is out of our mouth the answer is on the way. So trust the Lord and wait and you will be rewarded.

Tuesday Thought

It is Tuesday and here is your thought for today. In Isaiah 41:
10 It says, So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. It is so wonderfully to know that you are not alone and the Lord is with you. You do not have to be afraid. God is fighting on you behalf. So today walk in confidence, victory and power. You are a winner and victory in Christ. Today be successful in all you do and walk with the Lord.

He is exalted

June 17 – He is exalted – Psalm 70:4

This psalm of David is one that is a petition.  David is asking the Lord for help. There is an urgency in this psalm.  Many times we fell like David.  Lord hears our cry and hurry.  David is encouraging his readers to seek the Lord.  Jesus reminds us that when we seek the Lord all things will beaded unto us. He also encourages all to rejoice and be glad in the Lord.  Thanksgiving and an attitude of gratitude is the foundation to reception of God`s promises.  When you are in the right frame of mind you are ready for God`s breakthrough.
Let all those who love your salvation say He is exalted.  Do you love salvation?  The early church loved salvation.  They knew what the Lord had done and they were grateful.   Are you like the first church?  Primitive in your belief.  Simple faith is one that takes God at His word.  Faith is also trusting with not having to know why.  When walk by faith and not by sight.  Elijah did and he saw the prophets of Baal go down.  You can see the same thing just trust the Lord.

Monday Thought

It is Monday and the beginning of a new week and here is your thought to ponder. In Isaiah 3:10, it states, say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, For they shall eat the fruit of their doings. It is so great to know that when we choose to be righteous that there are benefits for this. So today do right things for others and God will reward you in so many ways. Righteousness has so many great benefits so enjoy it and be a blessing.

Escape

June 14 – Escape – Psalm 68:19-20

David was thanking the Lord in these verses for the fact that the Lord was daily taking care of his burdens and needs.  God has promised to supply every need according to His riches in glory.  This is something to thank the Lord for.  Jesus proved this when he had Peter go and catch a fish to pay the temple tax.  Provision sometimes comes in unusual ways but it does come.
David then reminds us that we serve a God who saves.  A modern day chorus reminds that our God is mighty to save and how true that is.  He is the sovereign God who helps us escape death.  Pastor Ken Bunting use to say, “that we have escape from death unto life.”  Death has lost its sting through Jesus Christ.  Great promises for us to think about today.

Weekend Thought

It is the weekend and here is your thought. In Isaiah 2:
17 It states the arrogance of man will be brought low
and human pride humbled;
the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, Right now arrogance and pride are main problems with mankind. The bible states that those who humble themselves will be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled. When we give our lives to the Lord and seek His face the promise is that all things will be added to us. Imagine a life with love, peace, joy and victory. That is what we have when we let go of pride. So let go of it and have all the things you need added today.

Wednesday Thought

It is the middle of the week and here is your thought to ponder. In Isaiah 1:26, is says I will restore your leaders as in days of old,
your rulers as at the beginning.
Afterward you will be called
the City of Righteousness,
the Faithful City.” God is in the business of restoration and new beginnings. What a great thought that you can start again. Many of us need that. So today, make the decision to give your life to the Lord completely and finish well.

Father to the Fatherless

June 12 – Father to the Fatherless – Psalm 68:5-6

In this Psalm of David we are reminded of the Lord`s care and keeping.  The Lord is the Father to the fatherless.  He cares for the widows and the orphans.  He is the voice of the voiceless.  He cares for the weak and defenseless.  This is part of what He does in His holy dwelling.  In today’s world the church is His holy dwelling and so we must take this as part of our mandate.  In Matt 25, it states that we will be judge on what we do in this area.
He sets the lonely into families.  What a great promise.  He leads the prisoner forth with singing because He sets the captive free.  Are you captive today?  The Lord will set you free.  Then there is a warning to the rebellious and that is that they will live in a sun scorched land.  So today choose the Lord and life in abundance and not in famine.

Be Gracious

June 11 – Be gracious – Psalm 67:1-2

This psalm begins with the Aaronic blessing.  The writer prays that the Lord will be gracious.  This means that we get undeserved mercy and the complete impartation of God into our lives.  That the Lord would show kindness, mercy and love and that His blessings would come in any form that we need at the time.  God has promised to supply every need according to His riches in glory.  Grace and true blessing come from the Lord.
The psalmist wishes that the Lord’s face would shine among His people.  This is a prayer for the presence, essence and character of God to be bestowed among His people.  The glory, nature and benefits of the Lord to be released in our everyday situation.  Is that you prayer and wish?
The nation of Israel in the wilderness saw God’s provision everyday with manna.  It never stopped until they entered the promise land.  God will supply manna for you as you trust him.  Paul said that God would supply every need according to His riches in glory.
The psalmist closes with the statement that the Lord’s ways would be known among all nations and His salvation among all peoples.  Is that your wish?  Pray and be His vessel to make it happen.

Tuesday Thought

It is Tuesday and here is your thought. In Isaiah 1:18, it states, “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool. There is a call today to come and spend time with the Lord. Our sins are he thing that separates us from God but in a moment they can be dealt with. We must be willing to get rid of them. Once done we can have full eternal and abundant life. It is our choice. Let us come to the Lord and let Him heal and restore us today.

My Prayer

June 10 – My Prayer – Psalm 66:18-20

This psalms writer is an object of speculation but he does have a solemn warning about prayer.  Prayer will be hindered if we regard keeping up with sinful habits.  When one confesses their sin to the Lord is He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin but when we hold onto it or chose not to let it go our prayers will be hindered.
God has promised to listen to our prayers.  He will love us and will be faithful in His answer but we must let go of those things that are hurting us and God.  This is a solemn and yet encouraging thought.  Let us let go of those sins and weights that so easily cling to us and let God have his way so our prayers will not be hindered or blocked.

Monday Muse

It s Monday and here is your thought for today. In Isaiah 45:it states, thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. The Lord says that through pray we can have divine help and provision. James 4:2 says, we have no because we ask not. Prayer is the key to unlock divine assistance. So today release that provision in your life and see God's help and victory in your life.

Victory

It is the weekend and here is your thought to ponder. In Psalm 20:5, it says may we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests. What a great thought to know that when walk in joy and victory the Lord will grant all our requests. The Lord wants us to release our burdens and problems to Him. This releases emotions and concerns to Him and this fills us with joy. It is wonderful to know we are not alone and that through the Lord we have the victory. Sp today live in this reality and victory.

My Honor

June 5 – My Honor – Psalm 62:7-8

David states her that is honor, high respect; esteem, distinction, recognition, privilege,, prestige, merit and credit depends on the Lord.  His salvation comes directly from the Lord.  David knew as we should that salvation is a gift that cannot be earned.  God chose to save because of his love, mercy and grace.  To think otherwise is foolish and deadly.  David then stated that the Lord is his mighty rock and refuge a common statement for David.  He lived in a world where protection was found in fortresses and high walls.  Refuge and safety were found in these places.
He then calls his readers and all people to trust the Lord at all times.  In all circumstances and situations trust the Lord.  Pour your hearts out to Him.  This means pray and let God know how you feel.  As the old song says, “Tell Jesus all about your problems.”  In all of this you will find God is your refuge.  He is your place of safety, rest, protection, help and peace.

He will flee

It is the middle of the week and here is your thought to ponder. In James 4:7, it states submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. What a powerful thought. When we submit to God and resist satan, he flees. We know he is a coward in the face of true righteous power. So today, give it all to Jesus and walk in resurrection power and see all your enemies flee. you will have abundant life.

New

It is Tuesday and here is your thought. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it states. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! What a great promise to know that all things of the past are gone. You have a new future. Yes, all things are becoming new. Do not dwell in the past or let it affect today or your future. In Christ you can start again and finally have your full destiny. Take that promise and hope and go forward today.

Rest in God

June 3 – Rest in God – Psalm 62:1-2

This is a Psalm of David given to his faithful director of music named Jeduthun.  This is a psalm of resting in the Lord.  David states that his soul finds rest in the Lord.  His mind, will and emotions are resting in the Lord.  His world finds peace and joy in the Lord.  His emotions are reacting to God and His words.  Emotions are a reflection of our perceptions.  David chose to focus His perceptions on God instant on the circumstances and situations around him.
David stated that His salvation came from God.  He knew only God could save.  God alone is David’s rock, his stability, fortress and protection.  You will never be shaken, overwhelmed and defeated when you allow the Lord to be these things.  David fought many battles and wars in his life and yet he said near the end of his life, “One thing I know the righteous will never be shaken or their children begging bread. “  You can find this reality as you trust in the Lord this day and remember make the most of this day.  It is all you have right now.

Be happy

It is Monday and here is your thought for today. In Matthew 6:34 It says therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Therefore we do not have to worry about things because God's promise is that He will supply every one of our needs according to His riches in glory. God is going to take care of you. So why worry, be happy. Our little exhortation for you today.
