Prayer to be successful you have to pray in faith, Jesus states in Mark:24, that when you pray, believe that you have it and then receive. Heb 11:1, says that faith is substance of things for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith is the avenue in which prayer works. You believe and you receive. Doubt, fear and worry destroy faith. So keep your eyes on Jesus and stand on God and His promises. Walk by faith not doubting and you will see your prayers answered.

This is the last snap shot about why God does hear and answer our prayers based on scripture. James shows us in 1:5-7, “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” Our instability keeps us from having our prayers answered. And lastly in James 4:3, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” Our self-indulgence is the cause for our unanswered prayers. So today check your motives and work on your stability and your prayers will be answered.

This is our fourth Vignette on the causes for God not answering our prayers. Isaiah 59:2, says, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” Iniquity also means, “immoral or grossly unfair behavior. So when you display this, God will not hear your prayers. In Zech 7:13 we find another cause for unanswered prayer. “When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen,’ says the Lord Almighty..” Our stubbornness is another reason or cause. It is okay to be stubborn for righteousness but not when God wants to change our hearts or behavior. Be wary of these two it is easy to become like this.
