Psalm 8 - Psalms of Steel

Lord, today help your people to watch their hearts.
Let each remember that kindness is the sign of a loving heart.
People always take heart when you give them yours.
Help your people to share your love with those around them.
May your peace which passes all understanding come now.
May we know that peace is not made in documents but in  the hearts of men.
Let me be a peace maker for your praise and glory.
May the peace you have been given me be shared with others.

The wicked do not have your peace or love in their hearts.
They do not understand or comprehend your love.
Many wished to find it but their minds are darkened.
There is no hope in their future so they despair in the present.
In your mercy speak to every open heart.
Give them hope so their hearts will not break.
Show that forgiveness will warm their hearts,
That mercy is a quality of love expressed.

Lord deal with our hearts.
Show us the secrets contained in it.
Help expose our hearts to us.
So the wickedness contain in it will be exposed.
That we may repent and see your healing.
The issues of the heart are not easily dealt with,
Yet we must see them for what they are.
So we can be healed and made whole.
