Psalm 68 - Psalms of Steel by Robert Dean Steel

Psalm 68 - Psalms of Steel

Children are a blessing of the Lord.
They are a legacy for the future.
An opportunity for the present.
A way to undue the past and start again.

Teach your children the things of the Lord.
Use every opportunity to show them the way of righteousness.
Teach them the path of prayer.
Model for the the reality of love.

Each child must decide for themselves their path.
A parent's responsibility is to provide instruction along the way.
With wisdom, love and grace, mentor them.
Be an example of godliness and consistency before them.

Fathers love your children and do not scold them.
Do not berate, frustrate or exasperate them.
Discipline in love, never in anger or control.
This will destroy them and your influence on them.

Father's remember your influence will build their self esteem.
How they view themselves now and in the future,
It lies within your capable hands and voice of love.
Do not refuse your responsibility for money or possessions.

Mother's do not spoil or excuse bad behavior.
You know what is right and wrong.
Have consistent boundaries so they may grow strong.
Love them and do not discipline your children out of frustration.

Children are God's gift to us.
Given for a short period of time.
While they are with us, enjoy and love them.
When it is time to release them.

Let them go into God's care and trust Him.
Know that you have done the best you could.
They belong to the Lord and they are His.
Praise the Lord for them being part of our lives.

Love them and stand with them in the Lord.
They will make you proud if you have taught them
The things of the Lord by love and example.
As for you and your house, serve the Lord.
