Eat it

June 3 - Eat it - Rev 10:9-10

Vs 9-10 – So John goes up to the angel and asked him to give him the scroll.  John was being obedient to the Lord.  Remember obedience is better than sacrifice.  Then the angel spoke to John and told him to eat the scroll.  It will be sweet to the mouth and yet turn sour in the stomach.  The word of God is sweet but it can be sour in someone’s life if they choose not to obey it.  Another way of looking at it is that when a word from the Lord comes it sounds sweet and wonderful but sometimes as it evolves it can have bitter moments on the path to its completion.
John told the scroll and eat it just as he was instructed and it did exactly what the angel said it would do.  The word we receive from the Lord will accomplish what is says it will do.  The word of God is concise, precise and powerful.  God will always keep His simple so that those who hear will not turn it into an puzzle or make it more elaborate.  We should always practice, KISS, Keep, it simple, saint.  This word that John was about to release was not going to be an easy word.  It would bring hope to the righteous and judgment to the lost.  This is never an easy word.  It breaks the heart of the Lord and his messenger.
