Vs 8 - The next angel followed with the proclamation that Babylon who is a great city has fallen. This is anticipation of what will happen in Chapter 18. There is some debate if this a literal city or a system. What Babylon is guilt of is that she has made all nations drink of the wine of wrath of her fornications and adulteries. Unspeakable evil has been committed by those who have fallen into this worldly system. The economic, political, social, spiritual and cultural influence of this evil empire has corrupted the whole world. No one can buy, sell or live without this system. It is fallen its end is end. God has ordained it and nothing will prevent it.
