Beyond Belief

May 26 – Beyond Belief – Rev 9:20

Vs 20 - Then John something beyond belief. Those that had not been killed by these plaques and judgments did not repent of the works of their hand. This is amazing. Even though they knew that these judgments were from God they still did not repent. The human heart can be so wicked and deceitful. The grip of the anti-christ and satan is so powerful during this time that they are blind, deaf, confused and unrepentant.
They worshiped devils. The following of the occult is so powerful during this time that people are giving themselves over to the worship of the devil. One time I was watching a movie and the final dialogue in the movie said that evil will always win over good. What a terrible belief. Yet this is how the people of this age and in the future will think. Paul stated in the New Testament that worshipping idols was worshipping demons. All false worship is inspired by satan and the demons. They crave and need worship. It is their life force. They feed off of it.
They followed idols of gold and silver. That would be money and metals and precious gems. This is called hard assets. Today people chase after these because in times of trouble they can exchange for currency. They worship brass, wood, and stone. John saw eastern people, first nations, people of the third world all worshipping these things. They estimate there are 300 million gods and deities alone. By 2030, India will be the most populous country in the world. Even now people from India are the second most populous people in the world. There are over 700 million young people in Indian under the age of 30. Idol worship on a worldwide scale is not impossible.
John points out that these idols can neither hear, speak, or walk. They are simply a figment of someone's imagination. Isaiah talked about how a man will make an idol out of wood and worship it and then use the remainder of the wood to heat his home. Idol worship is lunacy. Yet a quarter of the world still does it today. Even in the church today idols and icons are present in many churches.
