O holy one

 August 7 - O holy one - Rev 16:5

Vs 5  The reasons for this type of judgment is given in these two verses.  The angel in charge of the waters says something.  Now this is an indication that there are actually spiritual beings with authority and mandates over certain natural factors.  In this case it is the angel with power, over and dominion over the water who gives the reason for this judgment.  First, however he gives glory, praise and worship to God.  He states three things.  First, that the Lord is just in these judgments.  God always judges for a reason and his judgment are fair, just and true.  Next, he calls him the Holy one.  God is holy, pure and righteous in all He does.  His nature is pure, holy and immutable.  Last He is the eternal one.  God is who he is.  He is the past and future.  This is a continuous reminder of one of the themes of this book and that is God is the ever present one.  This gives us such assurance in any situation of life to know that God will always do what is right and fair in all situations.
