March 19 - Vignettes on Prayer

March 19 - Vignettes on Prayer

Our last vignette sets up what we are going to look at in this snapshot.  After months of prayer the Buntings along with Lindoff’s who were pastors in Medicine Hat were in a revival meeting in Standoff Alberta.  In the middle of the service the evangelist who was a native leader from the States  stopped in the middle of the meeting and said, “You white man stand up now.”  Brother Lindoff thought he was talking to him so he stood up.  The evangelist said in a commanding voice, “no the short one,”  Brother Bunting stood up and the evangelist said, “You are going to have a revival, now sit down.”  That was it no other instructions were given.  The meeting went on as usual and the Buntings bid farewell to their friends and drove home to Claresholm.  It was a Saturday night and they had to get ready for church and were wondering what do next.  When you pray you need to be ready for the sudden and often unexpected  too happen.  God hears and answers you prayers but often different than you expect.   James 4:2, says you have not because you ask not.  Ask and then get ready to receive because as Dan 9:23 and 10:12, states the answer is on the way.
