March 16 - Vignettes on Prayer

March 16 - Vignettes on Prayer

In Judges 6:24, Gideon is introduces to Jehovah Shalom or the Lord is our peace.  Gideon was about to go to war but after the battle has been won there is peace.  Jehovah-Shalom is translated “peace” 170 times in the Bible. ... It means “whole,” “finished,” “fulfilled,” or “perfected” and is really a title rather than a name of God.  A great lesson here is that peace will be the result of a battle won.  We have to go through warfare to come to a place of peace.  In prayer we win or lose our battles.  A great truth to remember is the battle is not ours but the Lord.  In prayer you stand before God who gives you peace from the internal war and strife you face.  Jehovah Shalom will send His peace.  Jesus is known as the Prince of peace and He will give you His peace when your soul and will are in turmoil, strife and war.   Today let God give you peace that the world cannot give or take away.  Let that perfect stay your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.    His peace is deposited in your heart in prayer.  He will make you whole, finished, fulfilled and perfected.  Go into your world which is full of conflict, ware and strife and be His instrument of peace which you received in your time and place of prayer.
