March 11 - Vignettes on Prayer

March 11 - Vignettes on Prayer

Today I will look at Jehovah Jireh which in Hebrew the J, is actually silent.  The origin of this name is when Abraham told Isaac that the Lord would provide a sacrifice on Mount Moriah.  Of course the Lord did after Abraham demonstrated his willingness to offer his son.  This of course is a picture of how the Father offered Jesus on the cross for our sins.  This compound name means the Lord will provide.  No matter what the need the Lord will provide.  He releases His riches in glory to us.  There are divine benefits waiting to be released in prayer.  He has provided for eternity and for our daily needs.  Paul states Phil 4:19, that God will according to His riches in glory.  What a great promise.  No matter the need big or small the provision is there.  James says you have not because you ask not.  Powerful.  So concentrate on Jehovah Jireh the one who will supply you needs.  He also gives you the desires of you heart.  He is the Father of lights who gives good things because there is no shadow of turning with Him.  Ask and receive.
