March 18 - Vignettes on Prayer

March 18 - Vignettes on Prayer

We are all have stories of victories won through prayer.  I was born again in 1974 in a revival in Claresholm, Alberta, my home.  Kenneth Bunting was the Pentecostal Pastor in that community.  They had been praying for a number of months for revival.  The church had been praying in particular for the young people.  For a few years that had been little movement among the young.  The church was concerned and they fasted prayed and sought the face of God.  They knew that only through prayer could God do something.  When you are concerned about your world you have to pray, seek God’s face, turn from you sin, and humble yourself.  God’s promise is that He will hear from heaven forgive your sin and heal your land.  That is what was happening with this group of people.  They wanted and needed revival.  They heard about what God was doing in other places but not Claresholm.  It had been decades and the old guard was hungry for revival.  Jesus promised in Matt 5:6, that if you hunger and thirst after righteousness you would be filled.  In our next vignette on prayer we will find out the results of that cry for revival.
