Opposes Peter

 December 1 – Opposes Peter - Gal 2:11-21

 

 In this portion of scripture we see a very unusual thing happen, Paul opposes Peter.  We learn a lesson from this.  Whenever things such as hypocrisy or deceit begins to show their ugly heada we must stand up for what is right.  Paul was not afraid to even oppose the so called big wigs in the church.  They were doing something that was wrong and Paul stood up for what was right. 

     One of the points of the sevenfold mission of the church is to promote all that is good and oppose evil in whatever form it comes.  The Bible says that when evil comes in like a flood, God will raise up a standard against it.  The church is that standard.  We are not only to stand against the world but to stand for righteousness in the church.  If we see something that is wrong then we must deal with it in love.  I believe that is how Paul dealt with the problem but he was still willing to oppose someone like Peter.  Are you willing to do the same?
