Abraham believed God

 December 2 – Abraham believed God - Gal 3:6

Abraham believed God.  What a powerful statement.  Abraham is a man that is greatly loved and admired for his faith.  That did not mean that Abraham was perfect.  No the truth of the matter is that he was far from perfect.  If one reads the account of his life, one will find that many times he fell.  What was it that made him righteous?  It was his faith.  In a simple word he believed.  He believed that God could give him the land of Canaan.  He believed that God would give him a son even though he and his wife were far passed the age of child bearing.  He believed that God would make his seed a great nation.   He believed that God would raise his son back to life when he was asked to sacrifice his son on Mt. Moriah.

Abraham is mentioned in the Hall of Faith found in Hebrews 11.  In his faithfulness Abraham became the father of many nations.  All because he believed God.  If we believe in God, He will do the same for us as He did for Abraham.

We have been born into the family of God through our belief in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross.  We simply put our complete trust in God.  Every man and woman of God has come through the same avenue.  It has all been through faith.  When we believe like Abraham it will be credited to us and we will be called righteous by God.
