The Promise of Faith – A Word to those Abraham`s of Today

There are great promises to those who believe like Abraham.  Those who walk by faith and walk in obedience.  Obedience is better and greater than any sacrifice.  Many think that if they sacrifice on behalf of the Lord that will give them some special merit with Him.  God desires obedience before sacrifice.  The Lord blesses obedience and darkness disappears.  Saul lost his anointing and kingdom by his constant disobedience.  That can happen to any of God’s people if they choose the path of disobedience.  The people of Israel had the same thing happen after generations of rebellion.  Remember rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft.  These examples are given to us as a warning and only the foolish refuse to heed constant warnings. 

                Next, the Lord blessed Abraham for his unselfish attitude and lifestyle.  Being a servant will destroy the snare of self.  Do not get caught up in “I” disease.  This will blind you from seeing God’s will and missing the needs of others.  Selfishness is a product of pride and pride destroys the character, nature and vision of God in one’s life.  It leads to nothing but wanting recognition and the approval of others.  Lastly, Abraham was a man of courage.  He never shrank back from faith.  His courage won him the victory over his enemies of the four cities.  His courage enabled him to believe God’s promise even though his body was long dead.  God gave him his promise.  Those who walk in obedience, unselfishness and courage will have their promise.  Claim yours today child of God and you will have it.
