Love – Sixty

     The one thing people want to today, is to be loved.  There are so many love songs on the internet and playing on the radio.  The problem is like the old country song they are looking for love in all the wrong places and looking for the love in all the wrong faces.  True love will never be found in a person except the person of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ is the personification of love.  Jesus was love with a face.  Everything He did was motivated by love.  He was perfect love in action.    

     When Jesus met a woman by a well in Samaria.  She came midday because of the shame of being an unmarried woman.  She had been in relationship with five previous men and now she was with another man and they were not married.  Jesus started up a conversation and before long this lead to an encounter that changed her life and the life of the people of her village.  Jesus is in the life changing business and He does through the power of love.

     God is love and when we love others in His name we are showing that we are His disciples.  The marvelous thing is we do not have to produce this love ourselves.  God`s love flows through us when we become born again.  The Holy Spirit takes up resident and He flows God`s love through us to others.  It is actually an effortless thing if we allow the Holy Spirit to flow.  Today take a moment and ask the Lord to allow His love to flow through you to others.  Also cultivate in your time with the Lord the practice of asking the Lord to love through you.  God is love and when we love we show we are born of God and know God.  Remember that today.
