I will call

Psalm 17:6 – I will call

This verse is so much of the recurring theme of the book of  Psalm.  Each Psalm is not just a Psalm of praise but also a cry of the heart.  That is what makes Psalms so rich.  It is the cry of the Psalmist from the deepest part of their heart.  It is the cry of the soul.  In this case David cries out to God .  God hear my cry today.  I am in trouble, distress and fear.  You will answer is David statement.  David through his life had seen God answer His prayer.  So He was confident it would happen again, so this was statement of fact not just hope.
Lord give ear to my prayer.  David in previous verses had outline the condition of his heart.  He told God exactly was happening.  He now was asking for God to help.  Prayer is such a wonderful thing because we can express our heart.  We tell God what is happening.  Through prayer we speak our answer.  Through prayer comes peace into the situation.  We have explained to God what is happening and we invite divine intervention.  Prayer is great therapy.  The Holy Spirit the counselor enables prayer and He also aids us in prayer.  When prayer is done peave and healing comes.  No more man made counselors, but divine and holy help.
