July 15 - Vignettes on Prayer

July 15 - Vignettes on Prayer

The last principle of prayer we will look at is found in the parable of the widow and the unjust judge in Luke 18:1-8.  The widow was persistent and finally the judge granted her request because she refused to give up.  Prayer must be made with persistence and diligence.  That is why solitude is necessary.  You cannot hear God in a busy world.  Sometimes you have to fast because it may be the only way to break a satanic stronghold.  God in His infinite wisdom and love know both when and how to best answer our prayers.  He expects us to never give up in prayer.  This action on our part is the clearest possible expression of our complete faith and trust in His word and promises He makes.   So be like what was the theme of the move Galaxy Quest, “Never give up in prayer and never surrender.”
