Jan 14 – Devotion on Ephesians

Jan 14 – Devotion on Ephesians

14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

In Vs 14, Paul reveals the purpose of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was promised by Jesus in the Upper Room discourse. He also again re-emphasized the promise of the Holy Spirit before His ascension. The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost in His fullness. He is the deposit, guaranteeing, or inheritance. It is like having a billion dollars in the bank and an executor there to make sure we get all we are entitled to. He is with us in this manner until the redemption of all people God has ordained to be His. This work is still continuing. Every day we get closer to the completion of all who are God’s own possession. This is all to the praise of His glory. God is to be praised for all His grace and mercy. We should not have this privilege but we do. No one knows the time or hour when all things will be fulfilled that is why we are encouraged to work while there is light and redeem every moment.
