Sept 19 – The Fear of the Lord
– Psalm 111:10
Solomon would based many of his proverbs
on this verse. David was the first one
to quote this. He
Then says that all who follow
the Lord’s precepts have good understanding.
These two elements
Are essential to godly
wisdom. James would later teach that
earthly wisdom is demonic. It comes from
The pit of hell. It sounds good on the surface but when you
break it down is focuses on selfishness and
Sin. Godly wisdom comes from above. It is birthed and made complete in the
Lord. He is the source
And finisher of wisdom.
David closes
the psalm off by saying all praise belong to the Lord. The Lord is the creator and sustainer of all
things. In Him all things were created
and are kept by Him. Wisdom is given
liberally to all who wish for it. In
fact in the proverbs wisdom is liken to a person calling in the streets for all
to come and share in its fruit. The
fruit of wisdom is knowledge, understanding and insight. Who would not want this?
