Things to Avoid

Things to Avoid – Ninety Eight

The Lord has many good things in store for His people.  He has promised eternal and abundant life.  His love will flow through you and you will be a blessing and encouragement to others.  Yet the Lord also warns you to stay away from certain things that are damaging to your soul.  Be like Joseph flee the Potiphar`s wives of this world.  Satan has all kinds of traps that must be avoided.  It will take wisdom from above to see them and the resolve of the Holy Spirit to resist them.
The first trap is the trap of pride.  This is where you think you are either better than others or you think that you cannot fall.  Many fall into this trap because they have had some victories over the enemy.  The truth of the matter is that after we win a victory that is when you are most vunerable.  Make sure to thank the Lord for the victory and then be ready for the next assault.  Pride has led to many disasters so keep yourself humble before the Lord. Remember no one is immune to attack or failure.
Next, make sure to never relax or drop your guard.  Many Christians feel secure and then when they drop their guard the enemy attacks.  The Bible says that satan is like a roaring lion seeking those he may devour.  You have the power, authority and anointing to defeat him but all this is through Jesus Christ.  So be ready in season and out of season.  Remember satan use temptation, deception and accusation to attack.  If anyone or anything comes against you in this manner you know who is behind it.
The Lord is your rock, fortress and refuge.  He is your help in the times of trouble.  Keep yourself pure and holy before the Lord.  It is He that defeated the devil.  You stand in Him alone.  Anything else and you will be defeated.  So avoid pride, accusation, temptation and deception.  Be wise in your dealing with others and walk in wisdom.  You know the attack is coming.  It is just where and when.  You also know that you will have victory when you put your trust in the Lord.
