Shallow

You ever met someone or have been called shallow. Here are four things that will help you not be shallow. First, love God and people. Shallow people never have any relationships with deep affection. Love is always going to be a risk but it is better to lose in love than never to have loved. Love is the glue that holds our world together. God Himself is love. Next, Shallow people don't like sentimental things. They consider it a weakness. Being sentimental is in fact a great blessing. It shows you have feelings. Have you ever cried during a movie? Listen to a song with tears in your eyes? Listened to a story told by a friend that created nostalgic feelings? This just shows you still have a heart that feels. Shallow people don't want these feelings because they can hurt. Being hurt is Ok. Staying hurt is not. My wife laughs at me because I like watching sappy Bollywood movies. Yes now the secret is out. Thirdly, shallow people have no real foundation. They only believe in what they can feel with the five senses. Real foundation begins with the Lord. Jesus said any house that is not but on a rock will crash when the storms of life come. The Rock is the Lord Jesus Christ. Build you life on Him and you will never be shallow and you will be able to face the storms of life with confidence and even joy cause God has your back. Lastly, You need deep roots. Once it took me literally to days to dig out a tree out of my back yard because of the root system. Trees with deep roots are able to face any wind storm or situation. Shallow people will fall apart in the storms of life. People who have rooted their lives in the Lord may teeter on the brink but they will not fall because of the deep roots. So today be deep and wise instead of shallow and narrow. You got a choice. Don't be shallow Hal.
