Do not boast

Do not Boast – Rom 11:17-18

Vs 17 – Paul then talks about how some branches have been broken off or cut off and other branches have been grafted in among the others and now being nourished by the sap that comes from the root of the tree.  Paul uses the olive tree as the example here.

Vs 18 – Paul then reminds his readers that they should not boast because they have been grafted in at the expense of the Jews.  We do not support the root but the root supports us.  It is by grace and grace alone that we have been grafted in at the expense of Israel.  Grace is a wonderful blessing it is not just unmerited favor but a complete life.  God will keep you and empower you by His grace.  By His grace we have the privilege of abundant life.  Grace will keep us from the world, the flesh and the devil.  Grace is a wonderful mercy extended to all mankind and applied by faith.
