Assurance

Jesus said in John 10:28, "and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand." What a great promise. You have assurance this morning of the keeping power of Christ. So through out this day. Go with the assurance and confidence that no matter where you are God is with you,. You are in his hand.

     I have given you so much to be thankful for.  I am aware of what you have gone through.  The times of piracy and slavery.  I have seen how many were exploited and hurt by others.  I want you to know that all that was done by those who were led by satan.  He was able to influence you and bring you down through voodoo and fear.  Even now he is fighting for the very soul of your nation.  However I have seen how my people have fought against him through prayer and evangelism.  
     I want you to know that he will not prevail in your nation.  His latest attack is found in the Jezebel spirit.  This spirit will try to destroy you from within.  It is a witchcraft spirit who will try to intimidate
 Without confrontation.  This spirit will use accusation, gossip and lies.  It will attack your reputation and influence.  You will also have in your midst false prophets.  Individuals that will come across as teachers of the word but they are in truth ministers of darkness.  You will also have the spirit of Balaam.  This spirit will try to get you to compromise your values and morals.  It will try to get you to accept the worldly standards.
     I have a remnant of people who will never bow to any of these spirits.  I am also raising up a new generation of warriors.  They will be young, powerful and determined.  They are going to ask the elder statesmen of the church to come along side of them and mentor them.  They are strong but inexperienced so they will need the older mature Christians to help and mentor them.  I will also move mightily in your churches with a new worship revolution.  Out of you will come songs of worship that will go around the world.  You will have a new crop of worship leaders and musicians who will be sold out to me.    
     A great day is before you.  You can and will touch the islands of the ocean.  You will partner with the church in Cuba in reaching Central and South America.  I have position where you are to reach your area.  Out f you will come the five fold ministry to teach and evangelize your part of the world.  Be strong and bold for I am with you.  My Spirit will empower you, but now it is your choice to heed this warning or not.

January 2 - Revelation Emphasizes

1. The message to the seven churches to be ready. The tribulation is brought about by

Man’s sin so God is preparing the world for judgment.

2. It has promises to the faithful. The moral and spiritual conflict of the age.

3. You and I have a choice to make to be sure that we are ready for the coming of the Lord. Sin must

not be a part of our lives. We are in the last days and so we should live each moment in the light of

eternity.

Full Potential

David writes in Psalm 50:23, Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me and to the blameless I will show my salvation.” The Lord promises through the avenue of praise and thankfulness that he will show us the full extent of our salvation. What a promise and victory today. God gave you everything you need in his salvation. So today claim this promise and live to your full potential.

To the Church and Nation of Azerbaijan

     I know that you are an old nation.  You were on the silk road and have had many nations visit you.  Your old alliances have brought you both wealth and poverty.  You have riches and yet also have great lack.  I have seen how you have embraced me and forgotten about me.  I placed you in a strategic place but you also fell from where you have been placed.
     To my people I know you have struggled hard against the forces of hell.  You have fought for every victory you have been given.  Satan has fought you every step of the way because he knows what you can do and he is afraid of you.  You are few in number and feel you are alone but I remind you of the same word I gave to Elijah when he felt alone.  I have many people who have not bowed their knee to baal. 
     I know my people are fighting ancient foes and seemingly new ones but I have promised you that even though the enemy comes in like a flood I will raise a standard against him.  I will pour out my spirit upon your nation because I have seen your struggle and desire to glorify me.  I have heard your cries in the midnight hour.  I have seen your tears and your desire for me to move.  Though your nation has turned itself to the forces of Allah and to atheism you will prevail.  There is a generation of  young people who are tired of the old things and they want a new thing.  You have fought for them and you will have them stream into your churches, meetings and Bible Studies.  It will be a great day for you.  Stand strong and do not become discouraged, frustrated or disappointed.  I will come and do great things in your midst shortly

Revelation

January 1 – Revelation

In these first few days we will not be apply scriptures but giving you an over view of the book of Revelation – Things to Come.  The Theme of this book is things to come and the great events surrounding His coming.  This is one of the most exciting books in the whole bible.  The apostle known as John was given the vision of things to come by the Lord Jesus Christ.  John was witness to some of the most important things that have ever come.  John saw the future in brilliant kaleidoscope.  The key to this book is that these are revelations of Jesus Christ.  This book was given by Him and centers around Him.  He is the redeemer to stir a believer’s heart to follow God.  We do not know the day or the hour of the Lord’s return.  The beautiful thing is that He is coming back and He is coming back for a church that should be without spot or wrinkle.  It is our desire to see the Lord Jesus come.

New Years Resolutions

     Well, it is another New Year and a new decade.  I was watching different news programs on New Year’s Eve with my family and the programs were talking about what happened over the past decade.  Exciting events like the building of Roger’s Place or the acquisition of Connor McDavid.  Worldwide events like the election of Justin Trudeau and Donald Trump.  Celebrity events like the marriages of Prince Harry, Justin Beiber.  Of course if we reflect over our own lives we think about family events like children or in my case grandchildren.  In the past decade I have had four of my seven grandchildren born.   Each unique and special in their own way.  I could never imagine life without them.  

    With the New Year, comes resolutions.  I asked the question on social media what were people’s New Year’s resolution?  The response was very interesting.  The majority said they were not making any resolutions because they just break them.  So I thought I would list first the top ten New Year’s resolutions people break and then list some good New Year’s resolution we should try to keep.

     First, the top ten New Year’s resolution people break.  Lose Weight and Get Fit, Quit Smoking, Learn Something New, Eat Healthier and Diet, Get Out of Debt and Save Money, Spend More Time with Family, Travel to New Places, Be Less Stressed, Volunteer and Drink Less.  Now each one of these is a great resolution to keep and do. 

     So why do we break New Year’s Resolutions?   1. You’re treating a marathon like a sprint.  Slow and steady habit change might not be electrifying but it’s a lot more effective than the “I want it ALL and I want it NOW!” mentality. Small changes stick better because they aren’t intimidating if you do it right, you’ll barely even notice them!  2. You put the cart before the horse.  Focus on the actions that produce the important results. If it’s not important, don’t worry about it.  3. You don’t believe in yourself and God’s ability.  A failure to act can cripple you before you leave the starting line. If you’ve tried (and failed) to set a New Year’s resolution (or several) in the past, I know it might be hard to believe in yourself and God’s help.   Doubt is a nagging voice in your head that will resist personal growth with every ounce of its being.  The only way to defeat doubt is to believe in yourself and the Lord.  Who cares if you’ve failed a time or two?  Borrowing from the movie Galaxy Quest, where the Captain’s catch phrase was, “Never give up, Never Surrender.”  Make that your moto. 

     So what are some good resolutions you should incorporate into your life.  First, you should invite the Lord into every moment of your life.  Notice I said, every moment.  There is an old hymn that says, “I don’t worry about tomorrow I just live from day to day.”  The reality is that we have no guarantee that we are even going to make it through the day.  I don’t want to sound morbid.  As a pastor, I have performed hundreds of funerals of people who thought they had all the time in the world.  You do not.  So enjoy the day that you have a live it to the fullest.  The Lord has promised not only eternal but an abundant life.  Live each moment to the fullest.  Be thankful, gracious, kind, gentle, loving, compassionate, forgiving and friendly each moment. 

     Secondly, focus on your private world.  I am talking about the real you.  Not the public persona you project.  What you do in private is the real you.  So focus on being a person of honesty, integrity, love, forgiveness and encouragement.  Spending time with God, praying and reading the Bible is the best way.  Resolve before you leave the house that no matter what anyone does to you, you will not do the same to them.  You will treat them no matter who they are or what they have done as you would want to be treated.   

     Next, focus on your family and friends.  The special people God brings in and out of your life.   Each day in His grace and mercy He brings people across you path.  They are there for a reason.  In that moment be grateful for them and nurture that relationship if it is long term.    If it is a onetime situation whether good or bad treat it as a growing experience.  Truth, be told we learn our best lessons through negative experiences.  They make up face our own weaknesses, short comings and failures.  They make us react either good or bad.  They challenge our abilities, our resourcefulness and creativity.  They challenge our mental, spiritual, intellectual and physical talents, skills and abilities.  In short they can make us a better person.  Make sure you tell and show love to those you care about.  Do it while they are around to hear and see it,  Well,  I see that my time to write is over.  Think about what you have read and have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
