July 31 –
Sing and Say – Psalm 96:2 & 10
It has hard to believe that we are already
at the end of July. Summer is moving
along and the
weather is
beautiful. Enjoy the lazy, crazy days of
summer they are special. Today the
psalmist gives
two
instructions. Sing to the Lord. Music and song are two wonderful expressions
of the heart. They lift
the soul
and release the Spirit. The psalmist
encourages us to praise the Lord and proclaim His salvation
day after
day. Salvation is not just a Sunday thing but a moment by moment and day by day
experience.
It is
designed to change your life for the better.
Charles Colson once said that salvation to Him was daily
being
renewed. Remember the mercies of God are
new every morning and great is His
faithfulness.
The second instruction is to say to the
nations that the Lord reigns. The world
has been established
and it
cannot be moved. The Lord will judge the
world fairly. We are not only to sing
but proclaim the
Lord in
the arena of life. So sing of the Lord
about His greatness and then say to your world that He
reigns,
creates and judges. The world needs to
hear your voice.
