The Feast of Tabernacles

The Feast of Tabernacles – John 7:11-52

We have spent the last two days on Jesus at the Feast of the Tabernacles.  On the greatest and most important day of the feast Jesus promised that anyone who wanted to may receive rivers of living waters that only he can give.  He of course was meaning the Holy Spirit but He could not be given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
The people were divided and the rulers were afraid.  They wanted Jesus but when the temple guards came back they said no man had ever spoken like Him.  Nicodemus stood up and said that the law does not condemn as person without a hearing without hearing what they have to say.

The others rebuked him and told him to look to the scriptures for there was no place where it indicated that the Messiah came from Galilee.  There was much division over Christ.  The Pharisees were against the people because they thought they knew so much about the law.  The people believed and the Pharisees did not.  Never become so religious or zealous for your interpretation of the truth that you lose sight and do not believe.
