Proverb of Steel
Man measures success in what they see. God
measures success in what people do not see
Verse Today
Psalm 16:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 16
A miktam[a] of David.
1 Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.
for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
apart from you I have no good thing.”
One thing
June 6 – One thing – Psalm 62:11-12
David closes this psalm about his views on life. One thing God has spoken and two things David knows. God is strong. David knew this and you should as well. No weapon, force, person or situation is bigger than God. He is strong and will impart this to you if you wish it. Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
The second truth or thing David knew is that the Lord was loving. From the sheep pen to the throne God showed his love to David. David was a man after God’s own heart. God showed his love daily. It was love that put and kept Jesus on the cross. It was love that kept Him in the grave and it was love to raise Him from the dead. That love will reward every person for what they have done. A little thought here. You will be rewarded for what you do in this life. What you do does matter. So today show practical acts of love to those around you. Remember God is strong and loving.
The Measure
It is the middle of the week and here is your thought. Man measures success in what they see. God measures success in what people do not see. So remember you are living your life for God and not man. Be a God pleaser not a man pleaser. Live a life that counts. Live for God.

Verse Today
Psalm 31:1 King James Version (KJV)
31 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
My Honor
June 5 – My Honor – Psalm 62:7-8
David states her that is honor, high respect; esteem, distinction, recognition, privilege,, prestige, merit and credit depends on the Lord. His salvation comes directly from the Lord. David knew as we should that salvation is a gift that cannot be earned. God chose to save because of his love, mercy and grace. To think otherwise is foolish and deadly. David then stated that the Lord is his mighty rock and refuge a common statement for David. He lived in a world where protection was found in fortresses and high walls. Refuge and safety were found in these places.
He then calls his readers and all people to trust the Lord at all times. In all circumstances and situations trust the Lord. Pour your hearts out to Him. This means pray and let God know how you feel. As the old song says, “Tell Jesus all about your problems.” In all of this you will find God is your refuge. He is your place of safety, rest, protection, help and peace.
