THE CHRISDTMAS MIRACLE

 

The Christmas Miracle – Visitation of the Shepherds – Luke 2:15-20

 

Intro:  This morning we will look at the visitation of the shepherds to baby Jesus. 

 

1. The shepherds had just been visited by angels announcing the birth of Jesus and so they headed to Jerusalem and found everything just as the angel had said.  They spread the word about all the things they had seen and heard.  All who heard were amazed and Mary treasured all these things in her heart.

 

 

1. Tell the story of where is the child?
2. There are three lessons we can learn this morning from this story.

 

 

2. We learn that God is always honoring and fulfilling His word.

 

1. Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6 and Micah 5:2
2. Isaiah 55:11, that the word will not return void, it accomplishes God’s desire and purpose.

 

3. God wants all men to praise and glory Him.  Inside of us we are wire to praise and worship.  If we do not worship God we will work something else.

 

1. I want to give a couple short thoughts on this subject.  First we know that worship is an attitude of the heart expressed. 
2. Worship though is more than a song service, revival meetings, or special feelings.
3. Here is a small story about worship.

 

4. He wants us to be witnesses to all that He has done.

 

1. This is what the shepherds did and the people marveled.  Matt 28:19 and Mark 16:15-18.
2. Talk about what Paul said in 1 Cor 11:23.
