FUTURE FORETOLD

 

Sept 9 – The Future Foretold – Matt 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21:5-36

 

            We are going to the future and what Jesus has to say about this.  Jesus’ disciples were marvelling over the temple and its magnificence.  Jesus would tell them that not a stone would be left.  His disciples then asked him what the signs of His coming would be.

 

1.    Everything that the disciples saw, the temple and the buildings connected with it would be torn down.

2.    There would be many false Christ’s and that they would deceive many. 

3.    There would be wars and rumours of wars.  Kingdom would rise against Kingdom. 

4.    Famines and earthquakes but these are only the beginning of the birth pains. 

5.    The people of God would be persecuted and handed over the ungodly authorities and be put to death.  Nations will hate us because of Christ.  There is a price to pay for serving the Lord but any pain we suffer now is nothing in comparison to what we have waiting for us,  Jesus told us these things to help us not to let our hearts be troubled.
