The
Godly Mother – Prov 31:10-31
Today we will examine the qualities and
characteristics of a Godly woman according to Solomon. Most scholars believe he was dedicating this
to his own mother Bathsheba.
Vs 10 -
When you have a wife of noble character her worth is priceless.
Vs 11-12 -
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing because of
her.
Solomon
says because she brings him good, not harm.
When a man knows
his wife has his back and stands with him
he is confident in her and himself.
Vs 13 – 19 - She is a business woman who
works hard, early riser, provides for family,
wise with money, has
strength in character and work ethic.
Vs 20 -
She gives to the poor and needy.
Vs 21-22
– Her family is well care for.
Vs 23 -
Her husband is well respected because of her.
Vs 25 -
She has strength, dignity and humor.
Vs 26 -
She speaks with wisdom and she gives instruction from her tongue. A rare
Quality among women and almost
non existent among men.
Vs 27 – She watches her household and is
not idle.
The results of this lifestyle is as follows
Vs 28 - 29 – Her children arise and called
her blessed. Her Husband praises her.
She surpasses all women in
their sight.
Solomon closes off with a powerful truth.
Vs 30 – Charm is deceptive. Beauty is fleeting. The woman who fears the Lord is to be
Praised.
Vs 31 -
We must give her the reward she has earned and let us let all know her
works.
