IT IS FINISHED

 

          I have been going through of my old sermons looking at the early things I said.  One I came across was called it is finished.  These words brought hope to mankind.  Jesus said them on the cross as a final point.  The power of sin, hell and the grave were destroyed.  Christ has won. 

     The message of Easter has been reduced to bunnies and eggs.  Paul said when he talk to people it was Christ crucified.  Keith Parks said the message we bring is Jesus Christ crucified, buried and rose again.  When mankind fell in the garden the solution was Jesus Christ dying on the cross.  Pat Boone said that blood of Jesus Christ brought forgiveness instead of revenge. 

     Jesus Crist came as sinless man, so we did not have to sie for our sins.  He came in our place.  Through Jesus Christ we have been forgiven and given eternal and abundant life.  Through Him we don’t have to know, pain, sickness or death.  This message of salvation is received through faith. 

     When Jesus said it is finished.  It was finished.  Satan had been defeated and death and hell have lost their power.  Paul tells us that while we were, yet sinner Christ died for us.  The book of acts tell us that Jesus Christ is the only name by which we can be saved.  Jesus Christ who said It is finished is saying that to you today.  Let the power of sin be broken in your life and life in freedom and victory.
