President Ronald
Reagon told a story one time about a reporter who worked for the Los Angels
times. There was a fire over Santa Monica,
and the editor told him to go take photos and then write a story. The editor told him there was a plane waiting
for him at the airport to fly over the fire.
So he took a taxi to the airport and saw a small plane on the tarmac and
immediately boarded the plane and instructed the pilot to take off which he
did.
As they were
approaching the fire area the reporter said, “okay bank left and I will take pictures
of the fire. The pilot said by surprise,
“really this is beyond my skill.” The
reporter said go ahead and to his surprise the pilot said aren’t you the
instructor. To their shock they found
out he wasn’t fortunately they made it down.
The lesson we
learn is always check before you venture out into something. Make sure you know as many details as
possible so there won’t be a huge surprise waiting for you maybe beyond your
skill set.
