Revival
Revival
We talk about it all the time. We believe for it. We fast and pray for it. The one thing we do not do is repent to make
it happen. There are secret closets in
our lives that we do not want to open or expose to the Lord. These are our secret places where we go to
play. We think that the little gremlins
and demons that live there are just play things. We can close the door and leave them
behind. The problem is that they will
not be ignored. They bellow and wail and
call to us again. We return for two
reasons. First, to quiet them up because
we know that the louder they cry to more the possibility of exposure. The second reason we return is because we
have not realized how deadly they are and how they are slowly sucking the life
out of us. The fervour and zeal that we
had the beginning our Christian walk is gone.
They have been able to make us ineffective. It is time to close these doors forever. Let them wail and crow. Soon they will starve and be quiet. You must never return to these places. Throw off the weights and sins that so easily
beset us. Now focus on the author and
finisher of our faith. He is the only
face we should be seeing. He is the only
one we should be serving. As the old
song says, “Shake off those heavy hands and lift those holy hands.” Revival will come when we are truly sorry for
our sin. We lament for what we have done
and make a decision to stay in that place of prayer until God hears us. There are two realities either revival will
come to our churches or judgment. Which
will you want today? Repent and see the
salvation of your God. Wishful thinking
will not bring revival only true heart felt repentance will.
