APPRECIATED

Joshua 1:6-9

Intro:  First of all I want to see I am glad to be back in Hay River and I really enjoyed my time away.  But now it is time to get back to work and I look forward to what God is going to do this year.  This morning’s message is continuing in our goal to help you know as much of the word of God as possible.

1.  Today we are looking at the book of Joshua.  I have supplied you with an outline of

The book, the life of Joshua, truths about the book, a map and character studies of

      Rahab and Caleb.

a.  Joshua in our passage says, be strong and courageous, for the Lord would be with

Joshua as He was with Moses.  He said be strong and courageous to Joshua 3 times

In this passage.  I believe He is saying that to us today.  To win our community and

The north it will take courage and strength.  The enemy who has been working in our

Community has been a long time and it will take some effort to dislodge him but we

Will succeed.  We will win because with God for us, who can against us.  Talk about

    The pastor’s in Kumundi, Kenya.

b.  The Lord again repeated this phrase in Joshua 8:1 before they were going to attack Ai

after dealing with the sin of Achan.

2.  God said it again to Joshua and Israel, before Joshua killed the five Amorite Kings.

In Joshua 10:25, Talk about this.

a.  The Lord again stated this word in Joshua 11:6, as Israel was going into nettle against

the Northern Canaanite Kings, with their allies, the Amorites, Hittites, Jebusites etc.

     Whose armies, chariots and horses.

b.  This promise is for all children of God.  If we are strong and courageous, the Lord

promises, that He will sin the battle for us.

3.  The fulfillment of this promise was realized in Joshua 21:43-45, when the Lord

Helps us win the battle and every one of his promises comes to pass, there is a time

Of rest.  Church however that time is not now.  We are getting ready for the battle

For Hay River.  So let us be strong and courageous.  Close with Patrick, how after

Many years He had won most of Ireland,

-  His greatest crisis happened when his followers were attacked, captured or killed in

    An English raid on Ireland.

-  It was sanctioned by an English Christian King, so Patrick asked the king to have them

    Returned.

-  The King refused so Patrick excommunicated him because Patrick was an English

    Bishop.

-  King complained to other English Bishop and Patrick was summoned to face charges

Of wrongful excommunication and conduct unbecoming a bishop.  His best friend

Betrayed him because Patrick when a young man told him in confidence his struggles.

-        Patrick refused to come and instead wrote a letter outlining his life and work.  This

Silenced his critics and his work continued until his death.  The results were the nation was won, it became the cradle of Christianity for 1000 years and He is still

Loved and appreciated even today.
