May 26 – Surely God – Psalm 58:11
David wrote a song or a Mictam which is a short poem about the perils of life. Through this psalm David bring to the attention of his readers that life can be perilous and even dangerous. You never know what is lurking around the corner or the next bend of the rode. We have an adversary as Peter says who is like a roaring lion who seeks to devour the innocent. Satan has one agenda, to rob, kill and destroy but we are not alone against him. The Lord has already given us the victory in Jesus Christ. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil.
David states that the righteous will be rewarded. In Revelation 2-3 we have listed the rewards to the overcomer. David echoed this thought here. The Lord will judge the earth. Paul states that God is not mocked whatever a person sow they will reap. Simply put through this day sow kindness and love and that is what will be given back to you. Ben Franklin said, “When you are good to others you are best to you.”
