May 22 – Not afraid – Psalm 56:4-5
Mankind has always been overcome by fear. What we do know about fear is that it is a spirit. It has its origin in the spiritual realm but thanks be to Christ we also have victory over it through Jesus Christ. In Psalm 56, David overcame his fear of Goliath to defeat an enemy in his life. Fear is like Goliath it tries to intimidate but once face it can be defeated. David said when I am afraid I will trust in you Lord. It starts with trusting the Lord.
David then reveals that praising the Lord is another step. You thank God for who He is and what He has done. When we trust in the Lord we do not have to be afraid because what can a mere mortal man can do to us. We are more than conquerors in Christ. Goliath was defeated by faith and all fears in your life can defeated as well. Remember that as you go through out this day.
