The
Withered Hand or Raise Your hand if You are Sure!
Matt
12:9-14, Mark 3:1-6 and Luke 6:6-11
Intro: On another
Sabbath Jesus was teaching in the local House of the Lord when He saw a man
with a withered hand. The Pharisees were
looking for something to accuse Jesus on concerning the Sabbath. Jesus knew what they were thinking.
He
had the man with the withered hand stand up in front of everyone and then He
asked the Pharisees if it was lawful to heal on the Sabbath. He then asked them if it was right to save a
life. They did not answer so He healed
the man. They were furious and so they
wanted to kill Jesus even more.
- Paul were always trying to tap Jesus, they asked Him once if it
was lawful to heal on the Sabbath.
- Jesus put the question back at them by asking if they would get
a sheep out of pit on the Sabbath?
Jesus said a man was more valuable than a sheep.
- It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath? Jesus is not concerned about man made
rules when it comes to helping a person.
- Jesus is distressed with the stubbornness and hardness of men’s
hearts.
