The Mouth – Seventy Five

The Lord reminds you that what you say does count. Our mouths can be a virtual unstoppable stream of poison unless controlled. The only way to get your mouth under control is get a hold of the heart. The mouth will only speak what the heart has in it. It has said that out of our innermost being comes what is in the heart. Now the heart without Christ is wicked and deceitful. That is why we need Jesus Christ so bad.

The Lord has given us Jesus Christ and with Him comes eternal and abundant life. He will also take hold of the heart and change it from the inside out. His change could be dramatic and immediate or subtle and more long term. Either way He will change your heart and in turn change what comes out of your mouth. David prayed to the Lord that He would put a watch man on David’s mouth that he would not sin against God. Do you want to control your life? Than let Him start with your conversation. Paul wrote in Eph 4:29 that we should pray that our conversation would be seasons with grace so that we would speak the right thing at the right time for the right reason. The Lord will help if we want Him too.

Today let the Lord have your past, present and future. Let Him have your time, talents and resources. Make them available for His use. Let Him take a hold of your mouth and let your conversation be salted with grace and love.
