The Cross – Seventy Three

     There is a song that says the Cross has the final word.  That is so true.  It was on the cross that Jesus suffered and died.  It was on the cross that the power of sin, death, hell and the grave were broken.  It was on the cross that Jesus had His body fully broken and His blood fully shed. 

     The cross had been an object of shame throughout the centuries but through Jesus Christ it became a symbol of hope, salvation and eternal life.  The cross made a way where there was no way.  It gave us the victory over all evil.  The cross as far as the forces of evil are concerned is their most hated object.  It was on the cross that the final battle of evil and good ended.  The cross triumphed over evil.  Satan and his power were destroyed by the cross.  Satan now wishes that he had never been instrumental in putting Jesus on the cross.  The cross broke his power completely.  He looks at the cross as the place where he lost everything.

     When you hear the song, “The cross has the final word.”  Think and then rejoice over what it did.  Thank the Lord for that old emblem of suffering and shame.  On the cross crucified Jesus suffered and died.  The cross like the blood, are the most hated symbols among those that do evil.  They may to downplay its significance but they can never deny what it did.  Rejoice in the cross.  Love that old cross and thank the Lord for it.
