Jan 11 – Psalm 3:7 – The
teeth of the wicked
The Psalmist has been encouraging himself
and us. He asked the Lord to rise
up. Lord comes along side right now in
this moment and help. He calls out to
the Lord to deliver Him. He addresses
the Lord personally. He calls Him His
God. The Psalmist had a personal
identity with the Lord. The Psalmist
believed His relationship with God would save Him. The reality is that He knew only the Lord
could save Him. That should be our view
as well.
The Psalmist then relates how the Lord
stuck all his enemies on the jaw and broke their teeth. A graphic illustration of his present
situation. The truth of the matter was
that the Lord will strike down all the foes of His people. The Psalmist was not afraid to register his
needs before the Lord. Prayer can be
this graphic and personal. Never
hesitate to tell the Lord exactly how you feel.
God is never surprised by your situation. He has the answer and will bring it to you as
you trust the Lord. Daniel 9:23 and
1-:12, remind us that even before the request is out of our mouth the answer is
on the way. A great promise.
