TRIBUTES TO MOTHERS

 

     Good day.  I know that this article is a little late for Mothers  Day but actually we should be thanking our Mothers and spouses  every day of the year.  Abraham Lincoln said, "I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life"  Mothers are the hidden workers .  They do all the things that would not get done.  Today being a wife, mother and balancing a career is a fine line.  My hat goes off to women who choose a career and still raise a family.  My daughter is such a woman.  She is a nurse and raises four children the years.   She is absolutely amazing.  My wife help raise four children and she has been my helpmate for decades.  She is an example of a godly woman

     One man wrote, “A mother's role is to love her children with all her heart. It is also the role of every mom to understand her children. When a child feels this, he or she learns to trust the parent(s) better. Listening is crucial to understanding.”  Here are six qualities of a good mom.  Be a good role model.  Set boundaries and Rules.   Be respectful.  Respect is two sided.   Be supportive and loving. Be Patient.  Walk in forgiveness.  Children need to see what true motherhood especially in a world of changing values.  Consistency is the key.

     One mom wrote, there are several things mom do on a weekly basis.  You are housekeeper, resolve conflicts, event planner, teacher, driver, laundry, counselor, health care provider, finance manager, activity coordinator and world changer.  That is an amazing list.  I just want to say on behalf of all of us a great big thank you.  You are an example for all of us.  I also want to especially thank all the single mother households.  You are everything in your family unit.  Many professional athletes were raised by single mothers and so many attribute their success to the tenacious determinations of their mothers.  Thank you.  As I close this article I am going to leave you with Solomon’s view of a godly woman from Proverbs 31.    A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies.  Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.   She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.  She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.  She gets up while it is still night;

she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it;

out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.  She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.  She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.  When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.  Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.  She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.  She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue. she watches over the affairs of her household  and does not eat the bread of idleness.  Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.  Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”  Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.  Thank you from all of us.
