 Feb 2 - Devotion on Ephesians

 

10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

 

     In Vs 10, Paul reveals four truths about God’s plan and purpose for our lives. This book is so great for destiny. People so often ask the question, “What is my purpose in life? Paul answers it beautifully in this book. First, we are God’s handiwork. We were created in the mental, moral, and spiritual image of God. God made us. We are not an accident. We are not a composition of chemicals. We are not a product of evolution. We are the image and creation of God. Secondly, we are created in Christ Jesus. The writer of Hebrews tells us that Jesus helped create us and He is the one who sustains us with His power. He is the one who holds us together. He is the center of the atomic makeup of our lifeform. Thirdly or purpose is to do good works. We are not created for evil, selfishness, or chasing after fame, popularity material things. We were created to do good works and things that benefit others. Fourthly, God prepared in advance things for us to do. Our talents, skills, likes, and natural desires were created by Him. They are for His praise and glory. They will be fully realized and enjoyed if we use them for His glory and for the benefit of others. God will also give them opportunities to use them and hone them. We have a plan and purpose for our lives so seek God and His righteousness first and all these things will be added unto us.
