Freedom -
Ninety Two
Jesus made such a powerful statement in
John 8:36, when He told His audience that who the Son sets free is free
indeed. Such a promise and yet so many
today either neither believe Him or do not exercise enough faith to see its
reality. So many in the church and
outside as well are suffering in pain, sorrow, sickness and depression. The prescription pill industry is a trillion
dollar business around the world. A
study was done recently and over 50% of all medication prescribed by doctors
have to do with dealing with diseases of the mind. People are so stressed out that they have
pills to wake them up, help through the day and then to put them to sleep at
night.
Jesus came to set the captive free. The problem in the church beloved is the fact
that most preachers do not believe that healing was part of the atonement. Many say that healing, with signs, wonders
and miracles went out with the apostles.
Of course with the advancement of the medical procedures often people
don’t even think about going to the Lord with their ailments. Just go see the doctor. He will have a little pill to take away the pain.
As
the church becomes more apostate so will the dependence of nominal believers to
rely on medicine instead of Jesus. Now I
have nothing against medicine or doctors but when was the last time you asked
for prayer of an ailment? When was the last
time your church has a healing line, prayer for the sick or even public prayer
for anything? All this does not stop the
promise and reality that Jesus wants to set you free. It may be physical, spiritual, emotional,
intellectual, financial or family. Jesus
can and will heal you. He will set you
free. Come to Jesus. See what the Lord can do. He says come, come and be healed. Come and be restored, forgiven, delivered,
reconciled, strengthened and set free.
