Sept 7 – Love Keep On – 1 Cor 13:7

 Sept 7 – Love Keep On – 1 Cor 13:7

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love always protects.  As a she bear or lioness protects their young so love will fight on behalf of others.  Love protects the widow, orphan and the vulnerable.  Love always trusts.  It is believing people and takes what it hears at face value.  Love is not stupid, but it is about restoration, reconciliation and forgiveness.  Love always hopes.  It believes it has a future and that the future is based on God and His promises.  Love always perseveres.  Love has endurance, is in it for the long term, and is willing bear all things.  Love does give up on an individual.  Love is a choice and a commitment.

PROV ERBS OF STEEL FOR SEPT 6. 2023

Sept 6 – Our Future – 1 Cor 13:12

 Sept 6 – Our Future – 1 Cor 13:12

12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Paul reveals a powerful and beautiful truth.  We look through a glass darkly.  We see things like a reflection in the mirror.  We do not know all things about the Lord and Jesus Christ.  Right now, we only know a little about ourselves yet one day we shall be fully known.  Right now, we have a limited view of things but one day we will have all the truth.

Paul is giving them a powerful revelation.  One day we shall be complete and whole.  One day all the knowledge, wisdom and truth will be part of us.  One day we will be with the Lord.  We will be like Him and know Him completely.  This is the blessed hope.  This is our future.  We will be immortal, incorruptible, and immutable.  We will be whole, healed and well.  This is our hope and future.

PROVERBS OF STEEL FOR AUG 30, 2023

Aug 30 – No Love – 1 Cor 13:3

 Aug 30 – No Love – 1 Cor 13:3

3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Paul then says that you may give all you possess to the poor.  You can do all the right things in all the right way.  You may give your body to hardship.  You may suffer much for the sake of the gospel and the Lord.  You could give up your body for the furtherance of science and mankind.  These are all noble and powerful acts but without love they are hollow and of little value.  Imagine going through life and producing, receiving and being of little value.  That will be the sum total of many lives.  They did for themselves and not God.  They did it for their glory and not God’s.  The motive and aim of everything we do must be with the motivation of love.  Otherwise, it is wood, hay and stubble.
