April 9– Psalm 7:10 – Upright David today is once again relaying a wonderful promise. The Lord is our shield. He is our natural protector. In Isaiah 59:19, it states that even though the enemy comes in like a flood the Lord will raise up a standard against it. The Lord is our shield of faith and will enable us to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. The Lord is also revealed in this verse as the Most High. There is no one greater in power, authority might and dominion than the Lord. David was calling out the creator of the universe. We need to do the same today. The condition for protection of the Lord in this verse is that you have an upright heart. You desire to keep a pure heart before God and man. You will always do what is right in the sight of God and man. As you study the Bible you will discover many promises come with conditions of purity, holiness, uprightness and humility. Joseph and Daniel showed this in the wicked worlds of Egypt and Babylon. Your world can and must be touch with purity uprightness and holiness. People need to see an example of godliness. Be that example and you will find the Lord’s protection help and security.
